First let me echo everybody else and say :welcome:. this is indeed a really good place to come work out your relationship with good old AL (alcohol). I have been here since Jan 8 and have recieved a huge amount of support and encouragement in my journey to overcome my addiction.
I can really relate to your family concerns. I felt I never measured up to my mom's ..expectations?..for me. The story gets much worse from there, but I'll not go into it for now. But what I have learned on this site has helped me deal with my family issues in a healthy manner, so much that I was able to really enjoy a visit last week with my mom, aunt and brother (brother and I had our respective spouses with us).
There is a "March Madness" thread on here that I would suggest you read. LivingFree has put up sticky notes for each day of the month, and they did help provide some food for thought as I was getting ready for this past weekend; and it worked!
