    My first post (tada!)

I found this site earlier this week. I went out and bought the herbs etc immediately and started on Tuesday. I have not had a drink since Monday evening. I am amazed that the herbs and supplements have changed my desire for AL. Astonishing. I remember the first time I finished a bottle of wine by myself. I was amazed that I had done that. I gradually was able to accomplish this dubious feat regularly. I felt the wine was making me sleep really poorly, have conversations that I did not remember the details of as well as act occasionally very snarky to people I adore.
Today is day 4 and I feel ecstatic. I am gearing up for a big family vacation next week and willing myself to remain AF. My dh is a very occasionaly drinker. I have not mentioned any part of this to him. I hope to sail through the vacation (along with the complementary cocktail hours) and remain true to MWO.
Thank you all for your wonderful posts. I know this early but I feel like I am at a real truning point. :new::thanks:

        Hi Sasha,
Wow! Well done! Keep it going! I am a firm believer in the supps and herbs......I say that with a bit over sixty days as a none drinker! Don't miss drinking a bit! It is truly amazing how much better we sleep and function without AL in our lives! Just be prepared for the best vacation ever!

So, welcome! Please share your experiences with us.......it will encourage others! particularly other new ones!

        Best of Luck!

          Welcome, Sasha!
Your resolve will continue to carry you through this journey, particularly if you continue to take advantage of the cheerleaders here! That sneaking around the dh is one of the things I hated about drinking, in addition to the memory thing, and the hangovers, and how the drinking was shaping our lives....You get the picture. Our best wishes to you.

              There with yah

Sasha - you inspired me to register. I have been "lurking" this site for over a week and decided to join after reading your post. I am not ready to completely give up my best friend AL yet, but am AF since Saturday - hey, that means a week as of tomorrow. Good luck and hopefully we can chase the demon out of our life instead of hiding from it, (heck, that means my husband has to go to.)

              Happy Easter!

Hello Sasha & welcome! You sound like you're in a great mindset & ready to make the commitment.
I too was a wine drinker... got up to a bottle a night, sometimes more... not remembering conversations & being "snarky" (luv that word!!) as you said to close friends & family.
Keep up with the great attitude & enjoy your vacation...can't wait to get your update when you get back!

Hi Sasha! I'M IMPRESSED. :wow: You obviously have that elusive thing known as "resolve"!!

That's the key. If ONLY there were a pill that would give me that... :H

I get all puffed up from time to time, thinking I can do this. Then I talk myself into... moderation... which apparently isn't working too well for me.

I have to make up my mind and "just do it". Either that or become rich & famous and go into rehab...

Have a lovely vacation! Lead the way!!!
