    First day of surrender

    Hi Blue eyed girl...

Glad you are here.....you are taken a huge step to make your life so much better. Like everyone here said, drink tons of water and take vitamins, especially B's and C. Another think that would help is gatorade or pedialyte. The electrolights help to rehydrate and balance your system. Most important, hang in their and be strong. We are here for you!

    Take Care,
    Kate

      First day of surrender

      Hi Blue eyed girl, :welcome:
Welcome, you have come to the right place. Tons of support, loving and kind people.
We have all been there. I decided March 17th, it was a very emotional day for me as well,
no sleep for the first 50 hours, but then it got better....
This is such a wonderful site. Always something to read, or someone to talk with.
Be proud of yourself, for taking the first step. :goodjob:
It is nice to meet you....keep posting and reading it really helps lots and lots.

        Ditto, ditto ditto....

And you already did the hardest part... Now let your husband love you... but mostly, love yourself...

        :welcome:
P.S. You can't love if you don't love yourself...

I am so gratful for this day...headache and massive cravings are abound. I am tired, but hopeful that by this time tomorrow I will still be sober. I will check back in a while so I stay out of the wine fridge!

            First day of surrender

Welcome to day 2, Blue Eyes :h... headaches are common now if you are dehydrated.
Are you drinking water? Do you happen to have any cranberry juice? I have no idea why, but it really helps me~ I cut it with water so it isn't too sweet , and I often drink it in my wine goblet (my 17 year old always does a double take, but has happily just found cran, and no merlot!)

Much love, with a Cherry Koolaid Cranberry Smile!

              First day of surrender

Blue-Thanks for your PM. I had a rough day yesterday. I caved and drank a bottle and half of wine. The excuses were sleepless Sunday night, upset tummy from the supplements ( I think) tired, cranky mad at the clerk in Walgreens and the food Store. I feel like crap physically this morning. But I took my supplements and I am back on the road. It is funny how I avoided this place last night. Your PM was the only thing I read. But, I thought about it all night. Thanks for sharing with me. I felt all night that I had let you down. As well as everyone else here. Mainly, just feeling like I was hiding. Um, I was. LOL Have a great day everyone. I will check in tonight. I will come here instead of the bottle.

                Shelby~

Ahhh.... been there, done that, got the t-shirt. On the positive side... it was a half a bottle. Will you throw the other half out this morning before you start your day? (It will end up in the sewer sooner or later, right? :H Okay, if it's against your grain to throw anything away, put some beef in a ziploc gallon bag, toss in the wine, garlic, soy sauce, and a bay leaf. Let it marinate and not you!)

Mr. Al will find endless reasons why you should have "just one". You are happy. Sad. Pissed off. Excited. Frustrated. Sick. Feeling great. Hopeful. Hopeless. Just remember that you have to treat that inner voice like a little child... rationalize with it.

"Not now, little Al. But if you lay low and let me finish this.... MAYBE tonight."
"I know I said tonight, little Al, but you are going to have to wait until after I finish."
"Mr Al, I would if I could but I can't. It's too late at night and I have to be up tomorrow early with my little girl. I'm sorry, but you'll have to wait for tomorrow. "
I know this sounds like emotional head games, and it is.

My older wise brother sent me a calendar called, "Getting in Touch with your Inner B*tch" , and here is my Niceness Detox Tip for the day:

Think of your Inner B*tch as an early warning system in the battle for self-esteem and dignity.
Just for today, listen to that wise little voice inside, telling you that you are about to embark on self-defeating behavior. Your Inner B*tch loves you first. :l

Much love, Shelby. Have a wonderful day today!

                  Patty,

Thank you for all your support. Nothing to worry about with the "left-over" wine. It was a bottle AND half (the half was already left-over). So, it is done. LOL But, nonetheless, your wisdom was taken to heart. Love that inner b*tch. She is my best friend. I ignore he most of the time. I pay more attention to AL. Fair weather friend that he is.

                  Have a great day!

                    BlueeyedGirl,

Here is to hoping you made it through last night and have a start on your AF journey.

If not, just try again today!!

I hate the withdrawals but as one of our most successful, totally sober, and generally great guys, Chief, always says "just pretend you have the flu," which is something you can deal with.

I do not know how much you do drink but please check out the link at the top on withdrawal symptoms. If you drink ALOT, you might want to go to a doc and get some meds to be safe.

One other thing Chief has said is "it is much easier to quit than to keep quitting." It took me about a year to figure that one out!! :H but he is so right.

:welcome:, don't give up quitting. Know that it is difficult but doable and totally worth the effort.

                    Love,
                    Cindi

                        2nd day of surrender

I made it through last night. I will say that I was on the live chat for close to an hour just to keep from toasting Dancing with the stars like I usually do. Thank you all of you who talked me down and made me laugh last night. I had a shitty nights sleep. I woke every hour in a pool of sweat but I am proud of myself this morning. I plan to go another 24 hours, when I think in terms of days or weeks it seems too hard. I can do another hour! I am sure I will need lots of comfort tonight so plan to meet me in the chat room around 9:00pm on the west coast. Breathing, sweating, not drinking AL....:thanks:

Not heavy breathing, or hot sweaty...? :scratchinhead::naughtfeet:... (had to babble back at you, Tony! :H)

Blue, don't let yourself get overwhelmed, it's like you said- one hour at a time. The dreams can be fun though, just wait and see :H...
