I love this feeling!
Day four af today and it feels great. It's funny how the beast tries to convince you otherwise when 2:00 rolls around, but I have decided everytime it starts to peak its ugly head around the corner, I am going to remember how great I feel and how much more fun I have without it. I am not going to forget its a urge now more than a craving and it will pass. Good luck to you all today and Happy AF Wednesday!!

Twosox, Love the name and Avadar. Great movie ! Perfect name for the start of this thread. I am going on day two of my AF Mon-Thurs. Thats how I use to be many years ago and hope to get back to a more normal enjoyment of a cocktail and it should be a treat not a necessity in my life. Who knows though, I love this feeling as well and don't want it to end.

Elsie,
Every day you leave AL sulking in his tiny corner you win BIG TIME!
Each day you have A/F makes the next one easier...and sleep comes better...and life is better.
Stick on here, keep posting, and keep us all aware of your progress.
Stay Strong!

Congrats Two Sox and Elsie!
I'm going to hunt through the archives and look for "What I hate about drinking"... we started it around New Years and everyone journaled why sobriety was better.
I'm excited that you are excited, but you might want to ask yourself: WHY do you love this feeling? Specific details.... so when AL tries to sneak back into your mind, you will logically remember that THIS feeling is much better.... :l

Goodmorning, going on day 5 and feeling great! Happy Life, funny to wake up to your post, because that is the exact question I asked myself yesterday afternoon, I had to take my son to baseball practice and on the way home I thought how nice it would be to have a glass of wine, but then I quickly reminded myself why I enjoy not drinking and it simply is, I like knowing I can enjoy myself and be perfectly happy and content without it. I sat this morning looking out my window watching the birds and this thought passed my mind. That life goes on without alcohol, I don't need it when I'm sad, angry or happy, it just became a habbit, like smoking, which after I finally quit, realized how great it was not to depend on it and not stink. I also came to the realization that their are so many out there that don't need to drink to live and neither do I.
Elsie, Goodmoring to you to, sorry you had a restless night, I hate those nights. I actully been sleeping pretty well, with some really weird dreams, but that is not all that unusal for me. I also stopped drinking any water past 5:00 pm, just a sip here and there so I don't have to keep getting up and going to the bathroom and its working - woo hoo!! I hope your day 4 goes really well, I'm praying for you!! Let me know how you're doing later. Have a beautiful day!

Twosox--
I could really relate to your post this morning. I think for some of us, it is mostly a habit. I was thinking yesterday, how nice it was going to be to remember the things I do with my kids, etc...
Thanks for sharing this morning! You guys have a great day!_______________
