    Weight loss and topo?

sorry...just have one more question. Does the topo cause weight loss? My dr. said it would (which is a plus for me) but I was wondering if it may just be not consuming all those calories every day.

anyone lose weight after atarting the program? I would love that!

topa does decrease the appetite, so yes, you usually don't eat as much (or drink as much alcohol) after you get up to a beneficial dose. People who don't need to lose weight general don't lose much, but people who do, general do lose weight. It does help to watch what you eat, though and follow the exercise portion of the plan. It's not magic!

I've lost 10 lbs since January without too much effort, although I did screw up and drank a fair amount during mid-Fed thrugh mid-March. I'm pleased that there are 10 lbs less of me!

      Topo Questions?

I am just getting ready to start this Thursday and I'm a little nervous about 2 things.

1). The side effects from the Toparamine. I manage a large Real Estate office and speak weekly at sales meetings in front of 75 or people.

2). How long do you take the Toparamine? I haven't been able to find that in any of the literature. My Doctor insists I have a plan for that so it is not endless.

        Re: Topo Questions?

        1) as far as the " topa dopa" question, from what I have seen, the dopier problems occur with the faster titration. If you go up more slowly (ie:25 mg per wk, or even 12.5 mg per wk or every 5 days or so), the side effects are much less as far as cognitive issues go.

        2) RJ (Miss Roberta Jewell founder of the program!) still takes 300 mg per day of topa. I'm at 100 mg. Kathy is at?? Kathy, what are you at? Tammie is taking topa, Marcie is not. Allie is, Brandy isn't. You will find all sorts here. What I DO know is that if you can get it prescribed it is very very helpful in controlling and preventing cravings, then when you do drink... it's like... a completely different thing altogether. You'll understand ! You just don't feel the need so much anymore!!

        Welcome!!!

        Keep posting!
