AF Team April - Day 11

Hope everyone is doing great!!!!! Hardly seems like April with snow on the ground, but I do see the crocus poking there little purple and yellow heads out trying to show us that spring is on the way. My skis need a rest and my mountain bike is ready to roll.

    Go Team:cheering:

Hi Croft, Barebones and everyone else to come

We are having a real mix at the moment. One day sunny and spring like and then the next snow and sleet. Hope you all have a good week-end. Glad you are doing better Barebones, know you had a rough few days. Day 42, thats amazing, I'm on 12, a month behind you and hoping to catch up.

AF Team April - Day 11

          :lCroft,

I lived in Loveland, CO during the 90s. Having lived all over the country, I can't really call myself a Southern Girl, except I did spend a lot of time here in the Southeast USA.

I absolutely loved Colorado. It was so difficult when we had to move back to Alabama.

But, one thing I love about the south is its springtime. I did get so homesick for the south during the months of March and April. Still snowing to beat the band in CO and the south already had gone through its crocus, daffodil phases.

Right now all my dogwoods and redbuds are in bloom. Next come the azaleas and rhododendruns. A feast for the eyes.

However, it still gets chilly here, even now. I think we are going to be in the high 30s this weekend. So sad, it was 79 degrees yesterday.

          Okay, enough about that.

Croft, you are doing so well. When this 30 days is done, you can sit back and decide what your next phase is going to be but so many try and simply cannot make the 30 days. You are marching right through them, albeit a little bit wishful for the "reward" of AL but still donig it.

Barebones, you, too, are amazing. You are dealing with so much and hanging in there. I am sending you a :l and hoping you feel much better soon. I also hope the Baclofen helps you!! That would be awesome. Not sure about the topa/Baclofen mix, though.

FinallyRN and RU, have a wonderful AF day today!

btw, I am having my struggles with my daughter but it is only reinforcing my desire and wish to be AF forever. I am hanging in there, guys, even if my heart is heavy with worry and dread.

Thanks to all who have sent their wishes and prayers. I so needed a few hugs this morning.

          Love,
          Cindi

When you started this thread of 30 days, I was right there with you.

I will get there though (don't know when, but soon)

Croft - enjoy the mountain biking, and the happy hour. You are so full of life! I went for a walk in the rain yesterday...oh well, it's a start.

Everyone else congrats on another day (barebones - 42 days? amazing).

Cindi - sending you many hugs and prayers today. With all you are dealing with you are still sending out hugs and encouragement to others. You are amazing - hang in there.

I think we are finally done with the Stomach flu here so looks like a nice, healthy weekend in store for us.

AF Team April - Day 11

Ok Team April ~ The weekend has arrived! I have some Kava Tea that I've been saving for a special treat (It kind of gives me a mellow relaxing feeling) and today is going to be a killer at work ............. so tonight I am going to "reward" myself with this treat!

If each of you has suggestions of things you have found that "reward" you - I'd love to hear them!

                Have a great day everyone!

AF Team April - Day 11

Although I do not post often I read this thread and others everyday. You are all so insporing. Yes i am still with you at 11 days, but would not be here if it wasn't for antabuse. I'm taking 1/2 tablet everyday yet it is enought to keep me from the daily debate as to whether or not to drink today.

Have a dinner plan with a freind. In the past this was out of the question because I would never want to infringe on the drinking hours. I am so looking forward to it knowing i will have an AF evening. Also, even though I am still in a very emotionless relationship I even see a light at the end of that tunnel. I need to get myself happy and healthy or I will never healthily deal with my living situation.

Today I am AF thanks to all of you especially Croft for suggesting this 30 days. Thank you all for being here.

AF Team April - Day 11

Hi all: Doing fine here, except for a little "jelly bean" splurge yesterday. Have enjoyed my AF week, and have stuck with my hepped up exercise routine, so am feeling motivated and pleased. Plus we got a taste of spring for a few days, so all is good here.

Have to finish up taxes this afternoon and don't have much planned this weekend, but will relax. Not too worried about meeting my goals, one of which is to moderate my MWO time (he he). Hope everyone is well. Holler if you need some attention!

AF Team April - Day 11

If anyone deserved a slip, Croft, you did.

For what it's worth, I picture you with Wonder Woman bracelets on, deflecting drink triggers and offers left and right. So, one got through. No biggy - you are still April AF Wonder Woman to all of us.

Thank you for encouraging all of us and enjoy your weekend.

Time2Change - loved your post, and good luck with the dinner. Let us know how it goes, ok?

LivingFree -- my rewards are M&Ms and Ho Ho's (which are like smushed up ding dongs - creme filled chocolate rolls) unfortunately. And pomegranite - orange juice - and gingerale. And popcorn every night. And James McAvoy in my dreams. And extra kisses from my little ones in my real life. And morning baths in my lovely soking tub. And the hypno cd's - hope to have time to do those again this weekend. And reading / posting to this site.

AF Team April - Day 11

Thanks happy4once - looks like you love sugar too!

Croft - The one thing about making a 30 AF goal -- if you do not do "perfectly" but over all go AF for the month - you will not even think about this when you get to the end of the month. It will be a no big deal event. If your goal is to drink AL mod over all - this would be like having butter & Sour cream on your baked potato when you were on a diet. Not exactly what was on the diet allowed list - but over all - not going to harm the diet. IF you don't turn it into a food fest (AL Fest in this case). So - give yourself some credit here - have your drink and enjoy it - than go AF tomorrow! This way you will REALLY feel like you can mod when you choose. You will have your AF days (quite a few in a row - which true modders do) and then you had a Friday drinking time.

Is this making any sense? I'm rambling.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

                              Croft,

You slipped but you are still doing well. I hope you will stay in this fight. For what it is worth, I am 68 (?) days AF and I am not entirely thrilled every day. some days it just sucks but I am finding that it is worth it b/c frankly when I was drinking many more days sucked. If that makes a bit of sense.
