Time to make a big decision.

Mia;315415 wrote: :welcome: 36. Nice to see another Aussie here. I am from Queensland and today the weather is beautiful I am just about to hit the beach to wash yet another hangover off. I am sick of drinking of it being on my mind 24/7!!!

I"ve decided to join Wooflet on 1st May to go AF.

Dont worry what people say about not drinking as someone said just say you are getting fit thats what I say and most people say goood for you!!

Stay on this site. the people are all so helpful and very kind.
    Hi Mia.

Thanks for taking the time to post. I greatly appreciate it. I am truly overwhelmed by the support that I have already been given. This is an amazing place.

I know this is early days for me but I reckon this may be the one thing I was missing in previous attempts.

    Good luck for May 1.

Enjoy your day on the beach. I love Queensland.

    Warm Regards

    Brett.

Time to make a big decision.

FloridaBoy;315411 wrote: What Woof said. *We* just cannot drink. There is another post that really hit me. It said
that when I/we drink my brain cannot or does not know how to stop...until we essentially pass out. Hey, they put beer in 6, 12, 18 packs etc. and that is how many my brain decides to have....nothing in my mind succeeds like excess..and I am a champion.

I have been AF for 30 some days. Done it B4 for months but after finding this site it will be 4 ever now. I finally realized that it was going to kill me and or make life completely miserable. I just told my friends that AL just did not work for me anymore and that I had
a monster hangover even after just a few. True...but not completely. I'm 56 and have been struggling with this since I was 16. I would stop for a while...go to a party and just get wasted. Then I would get depressed and the cycle continued.

The real issue is that people that do not have this problem cannot understand what it does to *us*. The advertising is insidious. The message is that you have to drink to enjoy life and have fun. We know we should not but we do to 'fit in' and it is to our detriment. It took me a while to get this through my thick scull. We Yanks are not too bright...look what we have for a President. :durn:
Hey Florida. I'm very much like you. That bottle just can't sit there with contents remaining. That is just not the done thing!

It seems our stories are also very similar.

You are right. People do not understand. Thankfully my wife is very supportive.

I like you Yanks. Hope to get there one day. I have an associate who lives in NY.

He is a great mentor and a no shit person.

Thanks again my friend for taking the time to post.

It is very good of you to take the time in such a busy world.

      Brett.

Time to make a big decision.

Hi Brett. Nothing like a good kick in the ass from your Doctor. Mine told me the same thing. If I kept going the way I was going, I would be dead in a few years. It's quite a wake up call. I have tried moderating several times and it just doesn't work for me. Finding this site has been a godsend. Being able to talk to others who have been there and done that feels like a weight has been lifted. Hopefully we can help you lift yours. :goodjob:

Time to make a big decision.

I just want to say Hi to the people I haven't met before. I'm in Central Vic. in the sticks. Been on this site for over 2 years and my intention was to moderate - which I've managed to do.

Whether you intend to stop completely or cut right down - this is an excellent place to talk and have a few laughs along the way. Hope to see you all around.

Time to make a big decision.

            Welcome,
Good on you all. Sun is shining here on the Gold Coast.
Get stuck in to the L-Glut and Campral if you need to. Has done wonders for me.
            Have a nice long weekend
            xx

                Hi Tawny

                Good to hear from you.

How is good old central Vic?

Hopefully you'll get a bit of the rain predicted for the weekend.

                Thanks again.

Hi Brett. 14 days today and I feel fantastic. I can't believe I waited so long. Besides, think of all of the money we'll save.

                        Hey Mya.

                        Great to meet you.

Fantastic job on going AF. It usually takes me a good 2 weeks to a month to get rid of cravings. Can't wait for that...

I've got a party tonight. I wont be tempted though. This whole scare has certainly changed the way I look at old AL.

                        Thanks for your thoughts.

                        Cheers

                        Brett.
