      How long did it take....

I have not been able to go 30 days yet. I can mod pretty well though. Someday I hope to look back and suprise myself and say, "wow, you know I have not drank in over 30 days" :H

I am hoping maybe one day I will be able to go 30 days too, but really, moderation would be very nice too. I'm in the same boat as hotmom - still waiting for supps and cd's, and still drinking the wine at night with the lame excuse that I can't do this without some help. It's been a week since ordering. I am hoping May will be my month to shine. I have a road trip to a running event, on the 10th, which entails alot of drinking (and running), followed by a dance, so I wonder how that will go .... I guess I will cross that road when I get to it. I have always had an easier time sticking to regimens when I have supplements or whatever to take - a program of sorts to follow. Have always had a hard time with the newer Weight Watcher programs, as there is just too much choice and freedom. I would just eat half the points and drink the other half (or more). Detox programs have worked for me because one takes herbal supplements, and that helps me to follow the program..... although the last time I only made it 8 days through the program and had to stop because I couldn't stand not having wine. I was going bananas every night!!! Lame-o!

Off to the gym! Catch up with you all later!

          flyinhigh,

For three years I wanted to be AF and attempted to cut back, moderate, or quit. All with little to show for the effort.

Then last summer I made a commitment to quit completely and wholeheartedly with the full knowledge that I could fail. I made two simple but uncompromising goals: (i) AF for 30 days and once there (if I got there); (ii) AF for life. I attained goal one and am living goal two.

I think at around 90-120 days my thinking changed from quiting drinking to "I'm not a drinker." I believe it and live it.

You can and will find your path.

            July,

            Awesome post.

I pray that when I get to the 90/120 mark, my mind too, will switch to "I am not drinking to I am a non-drinker."

            That will be sheer nirvana.

Glad you shared. So many can be inspired by it.

            Love,

I am taking Glut and normally have a will that is so strong, but it seems the more I think about AL, the more I want it! I am hoping to have a 30 day spree soon, and hope for more than that in the future.

Try to program yourself not to think about AL. The longer you leave it alone the better life gets. Like looking out a clean window. Go for 30 days and you may not think about AL at all.
