    Newbie. My Story.

    Well compassiongirl,

Know that you are in good company here. Most of us have been guilty of drunk dialing and whatnot. You can't change last night but you have found this site and you can change things going forward. Try to focus on that and be kind to yourself. Have you read the book?:welcome:

      Newbie. My Story.

Hi - boy have I been there! Last Friday night was the icing on the cake for me. I was so disgusted with myself I didn't think I could stand it. For a long time now, I've known I had to do something about my drinking. A couple of weeks ago I found this site and something clicked. I've read the book, am taking the vitamins and supps, as well as, Campral and just started Antabuse. It really hasn't been that hard either. You have to be in the right mindset though. I know I don't want to go back to that person I was when I was drinking. I am on day 7 AF! Stay strong and set your mind to it. The mind is a powerful thing. JLM

        Newbie. My Story.

        Hey Everbody

It's been about a year, and I am back. Ready to make a change. Since the last time I posted, my kids are another year older, 5 and 2 now; my life and job and still going good, and I've lost 65 lbs through diet and exercise.

This morning's hangover has prompted me to come back and ask for help. I know you guys will.

        I will not drink today.

        thank you

          Roamer,

          :welcome: back!!

It sounds like you have taken back control in other areas of your life and are ready to take this one on.

We are all here to help in anyway we can.

Just let us know what we can do to help.

thanks cinders. I bet I'll be on here tonight reading and posting. that's when the cravings hit - as soon as I get home from work.

I just need to be constantly reminded until it sinks in that this is killing me, even tho I can't immediately see it.
