    Greetings all,

    I am new here, and just wanted to take the time to introduce myself.

    Word origin:
    1447, from O.Fr. cessation, from L. cessationem (nom. cessatio) "a delaying, ceasing," from cessare "delay" (see cease).

    I almost chose "Attempting cessation" but that is kind of like "Trying2Quit", which is:
    1) Probably already taken.
    2) I don't want to be forever "trying", I just what to *DO* it.

    Anyway, I am a 33 year old guy who lives in southern California.
    I have been drinking increasingly heavily over the past 10 years, and it is starting to cause me problems, and I see that I need to stop. Seeking information, and maybe I can make a few friends...

    :welcome: Cessation - you have come to the right place!!!! Read as many of the posts as you can, download the book and decide what you want to take from the programme.

      You have a lot of friends here you have yet to meet. Hang around, read and post, we all will help you.
      My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

            You've absolutely come to the right place - this site has been the turning point for me. Read as much as you can and post often. It sounds like you're in the right frame of mind to beat this problem.

              That dog is sooo cute. My Mom has a miniature schnauzer that looks very much like that.
