    Pill Head

Man I must be messed up. I am now on so many pills I can't keep track of them all. Not only am I taking the supps mentioned in the book (7 I think) but the Dr. prescribed for me Geodone, Cymbalta and the Topamax. I am having a problem with remembering when to take all this stuff... I feel like a walking pill head that should be popping something every minute of the day.

Can anyone suggest a regimen of how to remember this stuff. The supps are outlined Breakfast, midmorning, lunch, dinner, and bedtime. I have one pill box and that has become a night mare trying to sort them out or even to remember all those times of day. Any of you have an easy way to remember when to take the supps? I can take the prescriptions morning and night, it's all those in between supps that have me confused... What is midmorning anyway? If I sleep in til 8 or 9 am did I miss my breakfast dose and skip straight to midmorning?

Hate to sound stupid here folks, but just never had to take this many pills before. It is a bit like work! lol

The good news is I am 6 days AF! I feel a bit dumbfounded though .... must be the pills~

Frog I can only suggest making a moment/ time i know its hard when you get the TAKE MID MORNING thing shit what I do is divide the day into 3 parts morning lunch and evening and stick to it our brains adapt very quickly to constant reapeting ( unfortunatley drink al time is one of them) For me I dont believe there is a pill that works better if you take it just mid morning its crap but take docs advice . My routine first thing in the morning fill the pill boxes and label them with a permanent marker eg...af(afternoon) M (morning) ect. Get into the habit (good that is) you may find yourself like me reaching for my pill bag as i wake up before i reach for a bloody cup of tea and toast LOL. Labelling pill boxes and repeating the behaviour is the answer for me.

PS well done on 6 days may many more be just in front of you YOU are wonderful!!!!

Good luck finding your way hope I helped

Well, what I do is ...............

I take lots of vitamins, sups, meds, etc. So each morning I sort them out and put the morning pills in cup #1, noon pills in cup #2, afternoon pills in cup #3, evening pills in cup #4. It works for me -- maybe you can try it.

The important thing is that you have come so far so fast. And that you are taking the pills which can speed your recovery. btw: glad to see you post, I was thinking of you last evening and hoping you were OK. So my question is answered.

      Proud of you Froggie,
      Matt

            Frogzter,

I, too, struggle with the timing of the supplements so have tailored them to what I can do.

I travel every week and it is not easy to be at a client and pulling out all those pills, etc, especially sitting next to the client. (I would imagine they would think I was a health nut!!)

I take mine at morning, noon and night.

I carry 3 baggies in my suitcase and sort them every morning.

            Hope this helps.

              Frogzster,

I was chuckling at your post because it highlights how something that is so simple to do can become so darn complex. I had the same exact experience! I was so excited to start the program and then got overwhelmed by all the pills as I have 8 different bottles sitting in a cabinet that once had none.

It wlll get easier once you get in a groove...

hahahahahahhaha - I am not laughing at you. I am laughing with you. I struggled so much with pills on pills. I called it the pill parade and still do. Although over time I have reduced the pill parade to a manageable few. You will work this down to, I imagine.

And I complained. Why to they have to make the supplements the size of hot dogs. Do they serve buns with these things? Geeze! And then the topo came in 100 m so I had to cut them. Then the next batch came in 25m so I had to take tons of them.

I started making designs with my pill parade as I lined it up behind the glass of juice I would take it with. I even took photos of the designs and posted them on my MySpace with no explanation.

You hang in there. And remember that you are not alone.

                  Frogster,

Congratulations on your 6 days AF! That is amazing! :wd::jumpwow::waving::grouptrophy:

They make pill boxes that are divided in to 7 days, then each day has many compartments - up to 8 or 10. Ask your pharmacist. Many times they are behind the counter, for some reason. I had a negative experience with Cymbalta. Made my depression worse and other side effects. I suggest that you check out the side effects on the internet. I wasn't on it very long, and still had to titrate off of it.

Good wishes for continued success with your sobriety!
