Morning all you lovely ODATers!

My, yesterday's ODAT thread took on a whole new life after the news about the pigs! Well, it was more the relevations by LVT about their sex life that really set the thread alight!!
I knew about the male pig's organ but not the other bit!! WOW!

Anyway, a little less of that today please, it is Sunday after all!!

Last night was an easy AF dinner at friends. Today should be an easy one too. That's what I am setting my cap at. Today is lots of digging out the weeds in the veg patch, spreading on a load of pig muck and then getting the rotovator out! Hubby is desperate to have a go with that new toy! We don't have any wiis or Xboxes or playstations or anythhing like that. Toys here are chainsaws, log splitters and rotovators - :H:H. Mind you he does get to play with some pretty big toys at work - Airbuses!! Then we'll throw a load of spuds in. Too late really but we'll get something of a crop and what we don't eat the pigs can have. Would be good to feed them plenty of those as the price of pig feed is going through the roof! Sheesh!

Got some chicks due to hatch today too - some Welsummers to lay really dark brown eggs and some Light Sussex - good utility birds. I just love having chicks about. Some being hatched by a broody hen, just 3 others, plus a pheasants egg in the incubator. I'll have to work hard to stop myself keep bothering the hen by checking all day long!

Anyway, the dog is whingeing to go out. I think the cat has probably caught another baby rabbit and she wants to get out and steal it from him.

You have no idea how much I enjoy reading your posts everyday.

Whilst you talk of the animals and the work, I can only slightly imagine the amount of work and fortitude that goes into keeping up with all you do.

I, personally, have a VERY difficult time cleaning the cat litter box. :H

On top of that, you run a B&B and that alone is a full time effort. You are a ray of sunshine every morning. Thank you for sharing your life. I get transported to a different world every morning for a few minutes because of you.

Now, down to the ODAT stuff!! You are doing so well this week. Keep it up, Bessie, and you will feel better and better every day. :l

Everyone else, I hope you are having or will have a blessed Sunday. The sun is just starting to come up and all the birds are singing a symphony. Since I am the only one up in the house (besides the dog and cats), this song is just for me. I love my early mornings to myself.

Today will be full of work around the house. Applying fish emulsion / sea kelp to my veggies and herbs today. Many other projects to catch up on........

Happy Sunday Everyone...

It is supposed to be another warm and sunny day in Minnesota. People are so happy to be outside doing yardwork and grilling up steaks on the BBQ. I finished most of my chores yesterday and now have to find something to keep me entertained today.

When the weather is warm and I have nothing to do is when I worry about AL. I get into this "I got to party cause it's nice outside mood". Any suggestions on how to manage it would be greatly appreciated. I am taking the supps and listening to the cd's but am worried about getting bored and instigating something.

I have the sme problem. Hate to get bored or lonely because what else is there to do but drink.
Can't help to much. I have been doing alot of reading, taking alot of walks and eating way too much. Now if only Icould sleep too much.
Read posts and go to chat, although there are alot of crazy people on there sometimes. LOL

day 26 AF for me. Visiting sister here in Berkeley. I love my sisters. we laugh so much. I had to get up early 04:30 to drive another sis to the SFO airport to fly home. Nice visit tho short. I am feeling very good about everything. Hope all are well.

Hi, today is Day 7, and I'm still here.

I know what you mean about the loneliness and drinking. But I try to remember that drinking makes me more isolated from everyone else, which creates more loneliness. It is a vicious cycle that I'm hoping being AF and maybe later moding will break. I currently have people in my life that don't like AL much (hard to imagine for us, huh?), which will reinforce that dirnking drives the people who create meaning and support in life away and brings in people that are destructive.

A, relatively, quiet day in the MM House. Husband has gone off this afternoon for a 6 day intensive training course (in a country hotel - doesn't sound that intensive to me...) leaving me with the 4 kids and 3 cats.

I am still sober, I think this is day 7 (or is it 8, gotta look it up). Maisie what you say about isolation, loneliness, alcohol is very true for my pattern. I figured it out not so long ago (I am 63 yo and btw if you haven't guessed, that avatar or aardvark of whatever you call it of mine is recent pic of me and my dog Maggie) and after all this time of doing it, it is becoming one of my mental push buttons to not drink. Thanks for crystallizing the thought for me time 2.

Bessie, whassa rotovator and an airbus? I must know these things.

Kitty sleeps on me at night but when I get up he thinks it's time to be fed so he follows me around. Just a sleepy tee-tee run and he's under my feet and I trip over him and fall down and whack my ear and shoulder on the bed frame thing. We are talking bleeding ear. On my pillow case. Hubby says that didn't sound good. It kinda hurts. And my hair is short so I will have to tell yet another story next week at work.

I must check my birdhouses. I just have to know if there is anybody alive in my bluebird house. Nobody sems to want to rent one of them so I will change location & lower the rent.

Kitty got stitches out and got shots (another $100 to add to the initial $275) so he can go outside now which does not help the bird factor.

Everyone have a great day. It is gorgeous out and I will take doggie to the dam. I need it more than her.

I joined this site 2 days ago as it seems to be the support I was praying for. This thread Bessie initiates daily is an inspiration. thanks to you all.
OK- am used to being all "buzzed up" for the things I have to do this afternoon. So, I think I will read this site at "trigger times." (when I leave work, Sunday afternoons, Friday evenings, etc etc etc) :new:

Welcome Spanky! You find a lot of inspiration on this thread, knowledge on animals, and that a few of us are a little nutty!

I came here today because I too was looking for a distraction from the Sunday afternoon buzz period. I typically would have downed a 12 pack by now and heading for the second one as I had "fun" getting my projects done. My trigger is definately Sunday fun and project work. Take the beer out of the equation and it's like I am on another planet!
