    I totalled my vehicle!

This is my first posting. Not really sure what I am doing... But I had a few drinks and completely totalled my vehicle. I am so embarrassed and ready to be done with drinking, but don't know where to go for help. I have the book, have not finished, but need to know the best profession for help. Family doctor, therapist, or ??? I have tried the traditional group therapy, lasted a whole week, but that is so not me!!!

With the limited amount of reading I have done, this seems to be a great resource.

I could really use some support because my husband is fed up and I think I really freaked out my kids. I don't blame them in the least...

      I totalled my vehicle!

      apgrl,

I can so relate to your problem. No, I have not totalled a vehicle but only by the Grace of God.

However, I have done horrible, embarrassing other things, like being kicked off of airplanes, broken windows falling through then, etc... The list goes on and on and on.

This is no joke. We have a serious problem.

      Our family suffers with us.

Stay with us here. We are a caring and loving community of alcoholics. (Some prefer not to use that term, but what are we?)

Read the MWO book. It explains much.

Some here choose the moderation path and many choose the abstinence path. Do what works for you.

      Glad you are here!!

      Love,
      Cindi

                    I totalled my vehicle!

                    Hi aplgrl :welcome:

I have come soooo close .I hope you didn't get hurt or hurt someone else. I tried to monitor my drinking but found that I just really need to abstain. I am really a disciplined person but when it comes to alcohol (AL is what you will see it referred to here), I simply have not been able to get a good grip on it so I had to quit entirely. Good luck on your journey.

Around here, they would haul you off to jail if that happened. Consider how lucky you are and be prepared to work your butt off getting rid of the AL demon!! (I'm glad no one was hurt!)
