    new: question-Topiramate vs Naltrexone

Hi, i am new to this and I am looking at the MWO program. Please give me feeed back on your expriences. Also, I was wondering what everyones thoughts are on Topiramate vs Naltrexone. I am concerned that the Topiramate has had the side effect of causing blindness.
Please let me know what you know about dosage on these medications.
    thank you

I recommend you down load the MWO book and read and reread it...I can't help much with the meds. that you asked about because I don't take them...I bought them all and tried for a few months to MOD. but it did not work for me...Others have had great results the the only med. that I have always with me is Antabuse...I have never taken any but it is part of my plan if I ever loss my mind and think that a drink is the answer...It feels really good to know that I can not drink once I swallow that pill...I feel safe in my SOBRIETY PLAN...

      Hi Zoey,

Don't have experience with those particular meds. Agree with evie - best to read the book, and follow the research on this site. About a year ago my Dr. put me on Campral to fight the physical dependence on AL. It has worked quite effectively. While I did not go back to my frequent vodka-swilling days while taking it (I'm still on it) I did find my lust for the bottle growing - the head just doesn't want to give up! So, found MWO, read RJ's book and started the hyno cd's. Already took supplements for general health and exercise regularly. Have found the cd's to be very helpful for me - there's some additional comments on them in the general discussion thread. Campral is supposed to work best if you're not drinking at all, but I have found that it is still very effective with moderation and the side effects are minimal. I'd encourage you to do the research and talk to your Dr. Best to you on your journey - let us know how you're doing.

      V.

I would also recommend looking through the "Medications" thread and possibly posting this question there. A lot of useful information there.
I personally just use the supplements--the book--exercise--and this place. Not necessarily in that order!!
