    Need advice (a newbie)

After having been drinking for close to three years 5 days a week (6-8 drinks) after
work and then driving back home I discovered MWO and ordered their hypnotherapy
CDs and have been started listening to them everyday.

My goal has not been to quit but moderate.

Since last April I did not go out and drink even a single day after work (except for
two slip-ups). My wife has allowed me to drink at home on Fridays but I still drink
to get drunk, about 3-4 drinks.

I just ordered the Kutzu extract and plan to abstain from drinking for at least a month.

I just wanted to know the following..

    i) What is the dosage of the Kutzu capsule I should take...MWO says 1-3 three times a day.
ii) Anything else I should supplement this with?

How long should I take Kutzu before I can risk trying to drink again moderately. Would
I get the same buzz with 2-3 drinks that I now get only with 4 or more.

      Hi Photobuff,
When I subscribed as a member, it came with a downloadable book, which began with an updated dosing schedule. It is now recommended that you have between 1,000 - 3,000mg. I take 6 a day (spaced throughout the day) and can't begin to tell you how happy I am with the results! It also recommends the following:
      magnesium - 200 mg
      milk thistle/silymarin - 300-600mg
evening primrose oil - 2,600 mg
      L-Glut - 1,000 -3,000mg
      Calms Forte - 2 to 6 tablets
      All One Powder

I'm 21 days AF with the plan to eventually moderate. You can take Kudzu anytime as far as I know. When I first "dabbled" with cutting down, I took Kudzu and it did help me not consume as much (as long as I was paying close attention). The L-G also helped.

I first heard about Kudzu in the Women's World magazine, under a little subsection "Ladies, do you want your husbands to lose their beer bellies?" I'm glad I found it, these last three weeks have been great! Hopefully I'll lose my beer belly - haha!
Wishing you much strength and success in your goals,
      River

Hey photobuff, great job on the afterwork goal - that took some effort. How about looking forward to something else that you really like to do on Fridays besides drinking? Mind you still take the Kudzu. I'm trying to turn that little switch off that says if you have a drink you have to have more. Hope all these supps and topa work. Love this site keek

          Welcome Photo,

Congratulations on tackling your drinking issues after a 3-year habit. Most of us slid under the rock of denial for many more years than that, which only served to wrinkle our skin and make it harder to quit/control. Also, I personally think it's a good idea to use MWO for its program (supps, cd's, etc.) as well as the comfort from others. Am on the 3rd week of the cd's and they are very helpful. Listening to subliminal now. Evielou gave another newbie some really good advice which I'll repeat here - you can go back and read older threads to see what worked for others. Let us know how you're doing.

          V.

heya photobuff big welcome to you (I'm an amateur shutterbug myself).

you may find as I have found that a much higher dose of LGlutamine is needed to kill the desire for a drink. gladly, it's completely non toxic in even higher doses but studies suggest 12+ grams (not MG) per day have a track record of stopping both alcohol and sugar cravings both. I'd take a rounded teaspoon (approx 5 grams) 3 times per day in juice. it's a bit grainy but otherwise not too disagreeable.

keep us up to speed on how you're doing ok?

              Wow!!

Thanks....Didn't expect so many replies. Right now my mood changes between a sense
of "Yes I can do it" to "Oh! God one month without AL"...BTW I am not planning on taking Topamax..right now. As I mentioned earlier, before I started the MWO program
(just listening to the CDs) I used to drink 5 days a week after work, anywhere between
6-8 drinks and then drive back home with no memory whatsoever. Used to wake
up feeling horrible (I also suffer from anxiety/panic attacks for which I take Clonazepam)
pop Clonazepams all day, promise to never drink again and do the same thing next eve.

As I started to listen to the CDs, an almost magical transformation happened...the urge
to drink around 3-4 pm was still there but not as strong. I started going to the gym at
work and after 2 hours of working out (love doing weights) lost all desire to drink.

Finally, as the wife allowed drinking at home on Fridays; I still find that I cannot (yet)
              drink in moderation.....

So I decided to take the next step..I ordered the Kudzu extract, the all in one vitamin
supplement and the Calms forte. I still feel a little overwhelmed by the thought of
remembering to take all of these.

Let's see how it goes...This is my last hope
