    Hello

    Hi,

I have been wandering around the site for about a week now. I have found it so inspirational. I have decided to go AF as the last couple of years has been really tough and my drinking seems to have got out of control. I am today 11 days AF and feeling loads better. Sometimes getting quite anxious though, especially when others are drinking. I am hoping the craving goes away soon. It doesn't seem to be a craving for alcohol as much as a craving to relax. Does that make sense?
Any advice would be really appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Hi Starting! Congrats to you on the 11 days first of all.
Being around others drinking when you are either trying to moderate or quit is not easy at all; and it does relax you, for a bit, before the other emotions and feeling set in.
This is not an easy internal battle to overcome. Best thoughts and wishes to you.
We are all here to help.

      Hello

Wow, I cannot believe that the support is so immediate!! It really does help to know it's there and to not feel alone.
I do feel better having actually said something and admitting that I have a problem!
Thank you all so much !!
      xx

          Hello

          hi Startingover and welcome!

your body will relax as you become accustomed to not having al in your system anymore. In the meantime there are supplements that are natural and also quite useful such as Lglutamin, GABA, L-Tyrosene, 5HTP, and magnesium.

          be well
