Hi all,
I'm new here and wanted to take the opportunity to start a thread that could maybe benefit everyone on this forum, old or new! I have been thinking about my triggers and I wanted to put something up that I could go back to, time and time again, to draw strength from when all I want is a drink. You know the feeling, you want it so much you can't think straight? I always find reading something that I know I've written when thinking clearly helps a lot. Maybe this could strike a chord with you guys?
I'd like to start off by listing a few reasons myself.
1. Alcohol is ruining my health (which is, by all means, fragile anyway)
2. Alcohol makes my depression spiral out of control.
3. Alcohol confuses me; I lose the capability to think straight.
4. Alcohol is driving a wedge between me and my husband; my family; my happiness.
5. Alcohol turns me into another person.
6. Alcohol has caused me to lose my looks and put on at least 2 stone.
7. Drinking and it's consequences scares me.
I guess that's it for now, I'll be adding to this regularly. I'd love it if people added to this thread - maybe it'll bring us all together?
