    ODAT-FRIDAY

    Well as some of my longtime ODAT friends (Bessie, Rustop, Greenie, I'm looking at you) guys now I'm a bit of an insomiac so It's 1 am in Canada and I can't sleep so I'm starting the tread early.........

    I'm on holidays as of 5pm today so Bessie will be my ambassador next week again as I'll be checking in with her again via my blackberry from my cottage via our private email so she'll keep you updated on my progress.......

    It's been a hell of a week on our thread but we've managed.......the support as always has been amazing - I want to thank everyone for being here for all of us as we always are. Whether we choose to mod or go AF or whether we slip we are here ODAT and we are here to support and love each other as we go through this daily struggle.

    I know a lot of us have joined the Sept. 1st bandwagon (yeah us) and a lot of us have been following the struggles of our fellow MWO members - I love our support system - we all rock!

    Lets keep up the positive attitudes guys! We Are Here For Each Other! Bessie is your Band Leader! Right Bess! See! I'm Singing your praises sister! k - And now I'm on holidays so I'll be singing my praises through Bessie as my band leader! LOL!

    Hope everone has a great week! I'm going to miss you guys tons but I'll get the updates and you'll get mine.

    Lovely for me to log on and find the ODAT thread already underway - takes some of the responsibility off my shoulders!! :H But they're broad so I can take it!

    Have a fab holiday Uni (second in a month?! I want your job! :H) Look forward to hearing from you. Sorry you couldn't sleep. I could sleep only too well last night - set the alarm for 5.30am but rolled back over to sleep and the next thing I knew it was 7am! No alcohol involved in that sleep though. Another hot day here, another day with loads to do. I need a holiday too!

    Love to all to come. Hope everyone has a great al free day. It's the start of a new month, hope this gives everyone fresh resolve.

      Hi Uni & Bessie and all to come!

      Uni - hope you have a lovely holiday. The cottage sounds idyllic and just the place to recharge your batteries.

      Bessie - ditto on the sleep but I must admit I got a few hours last night which was good. Wish you could send us some of that heat you are talking about - it is miserable weather here.

      HAPPY FRIDAY is here at last and an especially happy one as it is a bank holiday weekend here in Ireland plus my hubby is able to take all of next week off - yippee! I had hoped my holiday could start today but I still have a ton of work to get finished which will probably take into the weekend to do and I have been dragged in to attend a meeting next Tuesday afternoon. However, straight after that meeting we are then going to a hotel for a few nights with the kids and I am banning us from even mentioning work (and yes especially me) until the following Monday!

      I have been AF now for a week and it hasn't been so bad, mainly the sleep being the problem. I will not drink tonight but I will probably drink over the holiday week but NOT to excess - I am seriously cutting back in August in preparation for September 1st!

        Good Morning All
        Just a quickie this morning as I have to work the day shift, yuck. On the upside I will be home early, so can prepare for the Northeast meetup tomorrow. I am really psyched about that!! I will get to put faces to names of about 10 members of our MWO family. As mwo2 said, you have all become like family to me over the past few months. I can certainly relate to the sleep problems. I woke up at 3:45 a.m., and could not get back to sleep. Went to an AA meeting last night. It was very good, mostly female speakers. 28 days today for me. I will try and get to another meeting tonight. Hope you have a great vacation, Uni and Bandit. Best wishes to all as we begin a new month. Oh, yeah, the job interview seemed to go well. They kept me there for 3 hours. Hopefully, that is a good sign. I won't know anything until the Director returns from her vacation, the week after next. Oh well, "Good things come to those who wait."

          That's the first thing you say on the first day of the month for good luck. I said it twice. :H

          Insomnia hit me too. Bed at 12:30 but up at 4 AM. lay there thinking I missed hubby and how he was sleeping with someone else. But then I remembered he was hardly ever here anyway. I still just can't get over how he gets teary-eyed and tells me no matter what happens he will always love me. And that he is sleeping on someone's couch while he hides his affair. I know he has sought legal advice so ya'll hold my hand - it's going to be Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

          It has been a hell of a week. I'll be plling on the shirtsleeves of those of you going through job interviews. Sou all sound so good about it and are doing so well managing AL. And some of you so QUICKLY!! Yea for you all!

          Well, let's see what's in store for today. I'll visualize myself having a good productive day hopefully with smatterings of laughter. Best to all.

              Jackrabbit back to you all Greenie, Capt, and all you ODATimers. Nothing much to report except that I woke up sober today and it feels nice. I am at the beach for these past 4 days and have stayed AF -- now on about day 75 or so. Last night we went out to a nice sea food restaurant. It got mixed reviews among the group.

              So love to all. and Jack Rabbits to all :thanks:

                    Hi all, just thought I'd drop in and see how you are all doing...........I'm doing well. Have made some changes in my life that have helped me remain sober............I joined a boot camp!!! I love it. I feel alive, healthy, it curves my appetite for AL.
                    I check in often eventhough I don't post, I have been really busy getting my son together for the college move......my baby is leaving!!! We fly up to Oregan August 20th. Hopefully I've done my job and he will be ok...........but mom;s worry!

                        I posted this in Odat Thursday before I realized what day it was. I still wanted to say thank you to Bessie for her Thurs. post.

                        Hi Everyone,
                        Thanks for the invite Bessie. I am on day AF for about the 1000th time. I haven't come on here for a long time. This week I had a wake up call when a friends husband died suddenly, he was 49. They think he had a heart attack or stroke. This makes you stop and think about your health and what would your children do without you. They have 2 children.
                        I am glad to be back reading posts. This always makes me feel good.

                          Hi All,
                          I love reading the uplifting posts on this thread today. Everyone sounds so hopeful and quite happy. I am only on day 3 of being with you online and not AF yet but I can say that each day was better than the last. I stopped drinking in the morning and last night only had 2 beers; the weekend will be a challenge for me so I will probably sign on often for moral support. I can't believe how much help all of you have been to me!!! A huge Thank You to everyone. I hope everyone has a wonderful day! Kriger
