LVT...AWESOME job on 60 days, YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi to all...just a quick hello this morning, have to get ready for work...one thing I haven't lost while getting sober, is my procrastination about getting ready for work! It seems I "really do" hate my job :H

    Day 12 today!

Hope you all reach your goals today, whatever they are.

      Hey everybody, :new:

I tried a few times yesterday to get this post out and kept deleting it. I spent time yesterday reading all your honest and supportive comments and was really encouraged finally. Long story short: Years of drinking, getting older and tired and more honest with myself, I guess. Want to quit, tried lots, can't do it alone. I hope this program will work. The "witching hour" every day and Friday nights are the toughest for me. You all seem like great people. Thank you for being so welcoming.
      With hope,
      Alley

Made it 3 days sober! First time in years. I'm having dinner with friends tonight and want a rita. Not because I want to get sheet faced but b/c I just want one. I'm scared. I can do this, right? I mean people have A rita with thier mexican food and then go home. People do have one rita with a meal and they don't suck down 3 as fast as possible. I wish I would just relax a bit about it... if I screw up then I screw up. I tried this whole thing last week and screwd up but wasn't on the meds yet and had zero days AL free. Now I'm on the meds and 3 days sober. Surely, I can handle this... Tomorrow's my 35th B-day. I want to enjoy tomorrow headache free!
You are all the BEST!! I think about so many of you through the day.
          Thanks!

            Welcome Alley!
Depending upon who I am talking to, the "witching hour" has already arrived for some of us! I wish a hearty welcome to Alley and I wish everyone the strength to make it through tonight's witching hour.....and beyond. We CAN do it; we have each other! I raise my bottle of water in honor of all you good people out there. I am really excited to start getting to know everyone. kriger

              Aclassic,
Congrats for making it three days. I have not made it 24 hours yet, but yesterday was only 2 beers- I feel that is a triumph. Mexican food and ritas go great together, don't they; why don't you try ordering a virgin rita. It'll still taste great with your food. (Just a suggestion). If I don't get on to post tomorrow, have a wonderful AF birthday, which will also be a birthday to remember! kriger

                  Happy Friday all,

LVT - 60 days - woot!! Are you aiming for ab or mod? And Classic - it's great that you've gone 3 days. But your post sounds a little like your drinking mind (the little devil) is calling you to come back and have fun - "Oh, I've missed you so - I promise to behave." I'd watch that voice. It taunts you with nonsense like you can't really have fun without the AL, it would taste sooo good, and a little bit never hurt anybody. But that's the lure. Many can successfully mod, but it's tough for many so early in the game. I think Kriger's suggestion for a virgin rita is a good one. Just be careful. We care. Sea, 3 hours at the interview - that's got to be good. Cannot wait to hear. Please tell my fellow New Englanders that I send my hearty hellos, wishing I could be at the meet-up. Please let us know how it went. Welcome Alley - you've picked a great thread to introduce yourself on.

Jack Rabbits to all! Hubby coming home from his mother's tomorrow and daughter returning from friends. Actually, loved having most of the week to myself. Will appreciate them all the more upon their return! Enjoy a blissful weekend.

                  V.

p.s. To our Irish friends - our family is thinking of visiting Ireland next year for the first time, and it will probably have to been in the summer given everyone's schedules. But your weather reports here sound so down. Is this year typical or are you always "under the weather?"

                    Welcome Allie
Weekends are tough. I am alone most of the time; kids are in their 20's. I am divorced (happily). I spend alot of my free time here, probably too much, but Hey, if it's helping to keep me sober, can't be bad. Sobriety must always be my #1 priority. I do attend AA as well, just for the social part of it, I must confess. I was hardcore AA before, had a sponsor, did the steps and so on, but am having a great deal of trouble really getting into it this time. I also try to stay busy, busy, busy. I find that helps with the "stinking thinking" Best wishes to you. I look forward to reading your posts.

                      Hey Vera,
We will miss you tomorrow. I will tell everyone that you said Hi and send your well wishes. I am very excited about it. Janie is already in Cambridge. She is spending the weekend. I am going for the day tomorrow. I am waiting for her to call me when she unpacks. She is at a hotel. They are talking T-storms though (what a surprise). No matter the weather, I'm sure that we will have fun. Watch out Boston, crazy sober chicks visiting.lol

Vera-B you are right on the money. I made it through dinner with 2 ritas. Not bad and I have no urge to drive to the store to buy wine. But is that b/c after 3 days sober 2 ritas holds a little more punch or do I not have a craving? Any who... My heart is telling me to dive deeper into the program.

Sounds like you are in for some fun, Seacailin! Enjoy!
