    Can't believe the difference

I was desperate in July when I found this website--what a miracle. I was absolutely miserable and hopeless. Yet I started following the advice esp. with the supplements and outed myself to friends and family asked for their support and got it. Made a Dr. appt but until I could get there starting stretching (OMG) how that helps and boy am I out of shape, I'm malnourished so have put forth a lot of effort to supply myself with small meals and snacks I would (could) eat, nutritional drinks(ensure/boost), started walking, bought a yoga DVD,thats going to take some practice! Also try to keep myself busy with crosswords, sudoku anything to keep my mind sharp. Went to the Dr. come to find out she a recovered drug addict in this tiny town, go figure so she knows the pitfalls, doesn't want me to go on topa yet because of weight loss with use and is researching this site and the use of baclofen. I feel so positive with the steps I've made, also making liosts of things I can do when I go totally AF,setting a date soon. My daughter asked me Why now" and I thought about it, it's become like a bittersweet passionate love affair was great and have fond, fun memories but it's not fun anymore. We both know it's over and we both know it deep down. Time to move on.
    Thanks for listening.

    Wow Gatorgirl

That is great- the steps you have made- it really touched me.

I have great issues in talking to anyone about Al- the few people I have tried to reach out to later seem to throw it back in my face. I did see a doctor at one time, and while he listened, I could really have been speaking chinese- it must be hard for non-drinkers to understand why we keep throwing this poison down our necks- hell, even we dont understand!!

I am so happy for you that you seem to have a support group around you.

Great job Gator! Like with most broken love affairs we must resist the temptation to go back because of that comfortable, familiar feeling we experience when we are around that lover we have had for years! Resist going back to that comfort zone- it is really the "danger" zone. Keep up your good efforts and make a vow that you never want to see that destructive lover again. You are well on your way! kriger
