    Insurance and Employer

If I go to see a physician regarding an alcohol related issue, is this something that my employer is going to see via insurance information? I don't mind going to see a doctor to secure a prescription (I was actually on Topomax for migraines several years back and incidently went a long period of time without drinking), I just don't want adverse effects in the work place.

    Hi Holden,

I'm not sure where you are but here in SA it is all confidential. In fact my Topa doesn't even go onto my medical records at all! The best thing would be to discuss it with your Doctor and if it's a problem then maybe look at buying the Topa on-line.

I took Topa and have never looked back! Wishing you all the best!

In the USA, it isn't supposed to get back to your employer... but it will stay on your medical records forever, and might have other implications for you in the future (for example, if you ever need to purchase your own health insurance).
