    Little Star,
You are a wee one at 5 feet tall! You sound pretty wise for your young age...already seeing a pattern and a problem and wanting to fix it.

Welcome, I am pretty new here too. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Welcome UK Star. You are doing a great thing coming here and dealing with everything.

Seacalin said something very wise "Relapse is not a requirement" I must remember that :H

        Good luck and stay close.

Hi litttle star, good for your darling, my alcohol handles me too, I had my first drink at the age of 5 and am now 49, I have many sisters and we are all afflicted with the "cant have one drink, and causing physical injury to ourselves thing", for years I fretted I was going to "miss out" on something if I didnt drink, no matter what occasion or where I was, the truth is I WAS missing out on everything, I never REMEMBERED anything! And the injurys! I am so amazed I havent been murdered or raped and still have the love of my daughters, the reason I am here is because I decided to quit for good after 2 days ago. I had been trying to cut down for months and had been doing really well, so well that I thought (as you do when your in denial) that I could have just ONE iddy biddy drink of wine, well, I did have one drink, then 2, then the bottle, then walked up to the local, had 5 beers, went to walk home, crossed the road in peak hour traffic and got hit by a car from behind and bounced off another car in front and walked away with only a sore sort of head, the doctors were amazed at my luck but I have heeded my warning, I could have died and left my girls and grandsons grieving instead I,m going to rip my guts out to succeed and I,m sooo glad I found this site, good luck xxxxxxxx

Another newbie!!! Good luck to you. I am older than you, but had a few episodes like that when I was younger. There was no internet or any resources to turn to. (Gawd...I'm that old???) Anyway, the fact that you are here and want to change your behavior is a good thing. It is a long and progressive trip to alcoholism.

Everything I need is within me!
