Hi All - New Here. 2nd Day.
I'm so sorry. I know exactly what you're going through though. I don't think this is going to be exactly "easy" for me, but I owe it not just to myself, but more importantly, my family.

My husband and two teenage daughters hardly speak to me. My mom passed away two months ago and my drinking has gotten, if possible, worse. I drink vodka and tonic and try to pass it off as water, but they know better. Can't remember anything from 7pm on last night. Still feeling like crap and just want to crawl back into bed. I sure hope this can help me.

Hi All - New Here. 2nd Day.
Welcome, Stacebabe, you have made a good start. I agree with whoever mentioned more than 30 AF days. That amount of time gets the alcohol out of your system, but you (all of us) need a lot of AF time to establish new habits, to become totally honest with yourself about drinking. I went 2 1/2 months af, drank moderately for a couple of months, quit for a couple of weeks, drank too many days, quit again. Now I'm trying a once a week(max) schedule. It's all a learning experience. My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Hi All - New Here. 2nd Day.
Welcome Stace! You sound very similar to myself. Working mom, 2 young kids (3 & 6), was drinking myself to sleep every night...I would start with a few beers, finish with wine. I'm on day two also. Wanted to wait until my daughter was back in school...no idea why...just knew I couldn't quit over a long weekend with the kids. My husband drinks also, right alongside with me, but he too is sick of it and is quitting with me. I'm just so sick, sick, sick, of going to sleep drunk, waking up at 4:30 am for work and driving to work with a ridiculous hangover. I've even called in sick to work because of the hangover. It's just insane.
Good luck. Keep in touch with us all!

Welcome!
I just started too, but have been remiss in posting.
The supplements helped me so much with cravings. Now I can make it ast those very hard evening hours without much trouble.
I wish you all the best, and support you with all my heart.

Hi All - New Here. 2nd Day.
You know - this is exactly why I love the internet. It's so hard in real life for someone to tell you, "Yeah, I look like I have it together, but I totally don't", which always keeps me from saying it.
People always tell me, "You have two great, healthy kids, a great husband, great family and and awesome job! Lucky!"
Yeah, and I pound beers every single night until I can hardly walk up the stairs, then I snore through the entire night to the point my kids can't wake me up. Lucky!
I made it through my "witching hour" tonight. I gave the kids their baths and got them in bed (usually a huge process in and of itself), and totally wanted a beer, but decided to blog instead (I set up a private blog that I hope to make un-private, if I succeed). I'm feeling a little snappish to my husband, but I also told him he's got to expect during this particular time of day, it's probably not going to be pretty for a few weeks.
Nice to meet you, Angel.

Hi All - New Here. 2nd Day.
I agree I need more than 30, but I figured it seemed to me to be an attainable goal.
