Newbie here with a question about Topa..

Hello! I am so inspired reading your posts - just bought all my supplements today and put them in my giant pill box! So I am ready to go! LOL! I am listening to the subliminal recording while at my computer. I feel inspired and hopeful about this program.

I do have a quick question for those of you who have been doing this for a while. Has anyone done the MWO program WITHOUT the Topamax? I read through the book several times and feel that I do not want to go on this drug. However, if the program doesn't work without it, then I will make an appointment with my doctor.... I just wanted to check in with this question.

My goal is moderation. Right now I am drinking anywhere between 2-5 glasses of wine a night and I feel and look like crap. I know there is a better me inside somewhere.

    Feeling hopeful in Michigan!
    THanks!

    Hi Moderateinmi and welcome!

There are lots of folk here following the program without the Topa- I personally can't take it as I suffered all the side effects. I take the Vit B, Kudzu and L-Glut, and have taken Antabuse for the last few weeks but may stop soon also due to side effects.

Different things seem to help different people- just a case of trial and error it seems.

Good luck, let us know how you get on.

Hello Moderateinimi and Welcome, I am now doing the program without Topamax or Campral. I found the best thing I did for myself was proper vitamins and at least 30 days AF. Not easy the 1st, 2nd, 3rd......time but I realised I had to break that evening cycle. I was like you at first 2-3 glasses. Remember the size of our glasses. You may be able to moderate or not, I finds the strongest med is in my head. Thats just my 2 cents.

        Hiya Mod,

From MI as well, but have been in CA for 30 something years now.

I did the book, supps and CDs twice. I did NOT choose the best times to make such efforts and failed. But I am back at it, this time with Topa. It's only my 3rd Day of Topa, so unsure how I will do with it.

I just know I am going to do WHATEVER it takes to kill this beast. So welcome! It's an amazing program and great site if you work it.

Thank you Marbella, Kat and Waiting...it helps to know that I may succeed without it. After reading the book I got a little concerned - esp. the part about forgetting words and hands tingling! As a peri-menopausal women I already have that!

I LOVE your quote Waiting... that is how I feel about "my friend".. it's funny on nights I don't drink I have SO MUCH more time in my day - for things I truly love, my family, my work and reading.

          Sigh.

          Good to be here.
