    Day 4, need advice

On day 4! Shakes have subsided vastly. In part due to a trip to the er with an adavan drip in a salien IV and a prescription for librium, but I think mostly time has eased the tremors. Still have horrible night sweats and trouble remembering things though. Less irritable, except when my family asks me "So, what's your next step?" "When is your next meeting?" Don't want to talk about it, just let me work it out!! Taking a multi vitamin for women (One a Day for Women), magnesium, zinc, vitamin B, vitamin D. Ordered Glut, milk thistle, and melatonin. Can't afford topamax or campral... Nor can I find a GP who would prescribe it anyway. They'd just give me antabuse, which I don't want. I mean, I know it'll make me sick if I drink, but so will drinking anyway via hangover...

Found an inpatient place for FREE in Nashville. However it is biblically based and I haven't picked up a bible nor wanted to in YEARS. Religion is not my bag baby. (Ugh, can't believe I just quoted Austin Powers!)

Anyway, any advice on any more sups? I ordered the book, but haven't recieved it yet.

    Thanks!

Yeah, I read that post about grapes and ate a ton yesterday. None today yet, but will be eating more. Does it matter what kind of grape?

That is right tlrgs. Rach, I will keep you in my prayers. I have never been through what you are going through but it does not sound pleasant. I will send good thoughts your way.

I like L-Glut. But it sounds like you are pretty well stocked up. Trywhat you have and see how it goes. Then add to it. All those pills can start to make you feel weird after a while.

              Hi Rachel,

tlrgs has a good point. Perhaps being open to some new ideas would help you find "your way." This is a journey made easier with medication and supplements, but the heart and soul have to join in at some time. You've made a huge step toward sobriety, and we're all in your corner. Hang in there, and we'll help as much as we can.

I too like the L-Glut powder under the tongue thing, you should be able to buy it in a health store, it certainly does help when that sneaky little voice starts in the head.

                    Day 4, need advice

Thank you all for all the advice. I'm now on day 5! Hurray! Last night was hard though. But my parents have my car keys and it's currently only insured for fire and theft, so I can't drive it anyway cause if I get pulled over, I'm going to get arrested (least I won't be drunk!).

On another note, I was invited to go to a wedding next weekend by a very good friend from highschool. It's a tricky situation though becasue he's been in love with me for at least 12 years. When he was in the marines he had a girlfriend named Kim and once while they we making love he called her MY name. When he told me that I stopped talking to him for a while... I love him to pieces, but just as a friend. Anyway, he's an old drinking buddy and when he called to invite me last night I could tell he was drunk, or at least buzzed. I don't know what to do becasue he is in the wedding and I will not know a soul. Usually I have a couple of drinks when that happens so I can talk to strangers. Plus, I've got nothing to wear and whatever I get has to be long to cover up nasty bruises I have on the back of my left knee. My parents are not happy about the prospect of a wedding so soon. I'm tempted to lie and say there won't be any booze. My dad already made the comment that he's going to have to have a "talk" with my friend. My mom was like, dear, she's 28 not 18... I don't know what to do.
I don't wan to drink, but it will be very hard. I've got this voice in the back of my head saying, ok, just this once then never again. But shit, I've got two more weddings this year! Don't know what to do...

Hi Rach, you have been through SO much just lately. From what you are saying it sounds IMHO that you are just not ready to go to that wedding yet. It it was me, I would stay away until I felt stronger. It really is just not worth it. That is just my opinion hun.
