    pray?

I'm not a religious person. but I remember my husband tell me about a study that some scientist did. They had two groups of cancer patients, one half had a church congregation say prayers for them and the other half did not.....the patients with the prays began doing better in their recovery. I wonder if we all said a prayer everyday for all mwo' ers if we could all do better in our recovery? sound too nutty?
p.s. I go to the rehab center tomorrow after I see a lawyer about a housing issue I have been fighting for far tooooo long. I don't live in that apt. anymore but still going to court with the landlord/slumlord! have a great/dry day.

      pray?

raineyjane, I once had a sponsor tell me that deep down inside of everyone is a fundamental conception of God. He said that we would routinely ask the following question of groups that he was talking to: "Raise your hand if you have never once in your lifetime asked for God's help in getting through a situation." Invariable no hands go up...

I had to go through a spiritual experience (note I didn't say religious) before I achieved true sobriety. Once thing that I took out of that experience was the fact that I couldn't pray for specific outcomes; for money, fame or fortune. I had to pray for acceptance - that I could accept that what was happening as being just the way that it should be at that point and time. It was difficult to grasp initially, but it is part of my everyday life now.

Best of luck in your rehab.

          pray?

There have been many, many studies done that prove in the power of Prayer...What is PRAYER ??? I think that Prayer is positive focused thought that we think at the universe so that we get assistance for higher realms, to accomplish what it is that we are praying for..

            I believe!
I believe God is who He says He is
I believe God can do what He says He can do
I believe I am who God says I am
I believe I can do what God says I can do
I believe God's word is alive and active in me.
            And
I believe God hears the prayers of His children..

                pray?

Thanks for posting this RJ. I so believe in the power of prayer!! When my middle son was born he was very ill and it did not look like he would live. My ex-husbands Aunt started a prayer line for him by calling all of her friends in Faith. He is now a healthy 22 year old man. I pray for my MWO family every night.

                      pray?

Lets get this praying started. I believe in it but for the past couple of years I feel that AL has robbed me of my spirituality. I will start praying for everyone that posted on the thread; please keep me in your prayers.

                            pray?

                            Bless you Rainey!

That's a great idea - will include everyone trying to beat the AL beast in my prayers tonight. And a special prayer as you take the step to rehab tomorrow. That must be huge. I hope it's a life changing experience for you. Having MWO to return to after you're released should be so important for long term results. And we'll be here, ready to stand with you. Good luck friend.

                              pray?

Last night was the first time I have ever prayed for people I don't really know. I always thought prayer chains were kind of silly, but am realizing as of late that there really, truly is power in prayer. So, just wanted to say good morning and I hope the prayers said last night and today by me and everyone else for our MWO family helped give some comfort and strength. And for those who struggled, keep your heart open and full of hope. And keep on trying!:h :l
