Lets start a 7 day plan to get this jump started

You guys I am having one of those days already where all I want to do is go home after work and have a glass of wine but I WONT because i am dedicated at this point.

Anyone know a better way to deal with the emotional roller coast ride one feels when things arent going your way?

paisley, do you have the cd's? Do you have some grocery shopping you REALLY should do before you go home. (Where I live they don't sell wine in grocery stores so that may not work.) This roller coaster stinks. Do you have the glut?

      Hang in there buddy :l

I feel the same way paisley, but instead of going home I'm going to he gym. What helps me understand why I want to drink is be present and look at what's really going on physically or mentally. I ask myself "why do I really want to drink" -- is it stress, boredom, habit, PMS etc... I can usually come up with an answer and lately I've been able to deal with what's really going on and not just "I need a drink" Exercise usually helps me so that's what I'm doing today. Good luck

          Paisley,
When those thoughts rear their ugly head, try to divert your attention to something totally different...take a brisk walk...soak in the bath...make a grocery list. Do anything to turn your thoughts in a new direction. These thoughts DO pass...keep that in mind. Do you have a list of all the reasons you want AL out of your life (or to not control your life)? Pull that list out and re-read it.

I am in for another 7 days!

Hi to all. Great job to everyone of my thread buds- you guys are great! Lets keep the momentum up
and get thru the next 7. My friend just gave me a bottle of my favorite wine as a thank you. I am saving it for my B-day nexxt month and of course will share it. I can look forward to moderating after I get my system cleaned out from years and years of daily Al abuse. Am taking tons of vites, the L-glut, using the cd's ( I am sleeping great now) and PRAYING hard. Thanks to all of you for the support. Day one of the next phase! hugs- St. John

Hi Paisley - today is my first day and I would love to join the 7 day AF plan. I have been slipping these past days very badly - we all could use the support. Baby steps for me too! Thank you for starting this posting.

Lets start a 7 day plan to get this jump started

                          Hello all,

I am sad to report I will have to start over. I thought I had day 5 in the bag. Then late last night my roommate got bad news that his mom was not expected to make it through the night. Well he started drinking and crying(he does not have a problem with AL)....I started drinking, crying. Long story short, I fell off the wagon. Not really bad mind you, most of a bottle of wine and a couple of shots of Vodka. Did not get s*#@ faced. He woke me up about 3am...his mom had passed. I'm so sad for him.

I wish I had chosen to be strong and not drink but looking back this morning I have to say, I realize more now than ever how much I want this. Life is short and I want to take care of my body. My loved ones need me.

Starting day 1 with a vengeance.

By the way...I had run out of Topa(I order online) so I decided to call a doctor today to get more. Dr Linda Garcia lives here in Fairbanks. I didn't even know. Waiting for her call.
:flower: I'm not as good as I'm gonna get, but I'm better than I used to be.

Welcome Odie!! you can do it and we are here for you. there will be times when it will be hard as hell. i am having one of those days where all i want to do is go home and try to forget all the stresses of life but i logged on here a little while ago and stated my concern for the day and there were my friends giving me advice on how to better nurse my stresses so i am going to the gym instead of fixing a martini.

i am totally here for you and everyone else!!!:l:l
