Paisley, I will cheer you on and join you. I made 23 days and slipped yesterday. I could call today day one. Baby steps are great.

Wonderful!!! Lets do this. Did you feel good those 21 days AF? I have no idea what that feels like, so please tell me. I want to eventually get to 21 too but i am setting a goal of 7 days first AF.

They say its good to have a plan. Thats what I love about this site. You get good sound advice!

        Hi Paisley

I think it is a great idea to start with a 7 day goal- 30 days can be daunting when we are new to this and we often fail

Its day 6 (again) for me tomorrow so I'm a bit ahead, but will be checking in too if that's OK!

Paisley, It felt great to feel in control. I did 30 days in May and that felt terrific as well. You always have to be aware of the little voice in the back of your head telling you its ok to have just one, or two or three.....Someone once told me it was like mourning the death of a friend. Some times I feel great and other times the longing is there and is a day to day battle to stay AF. It does feel good to wake up Hangover free. Baby steps are great because it truely is ODAT.

              Hi Paisley,
Day One again for me - came back to the site last week fully determined but had a rough weekend with my SIL being in hospital - so I did have a few glasses of wine with my brother - but I am back on track now and yes I think it would be great for me to take baby steps and do 7 days..have only ever got to 14 before - so I am more than happy to join in and help if I can, hopefully you can help me too!

Thats a pretty cool quote. When we get to the next day and the next day and the next AF we are growing and learning and becoming stronger than our addiction. Thats how I am going to interpret that quote!

Oh, all of you guys that want to do this - LETS DO IT!!!!!!!

I am on board Paisely! I was planning on doing a 30 day but will only focus on the next seven. It does seem less daunting than 30. Then after the 7 days I hope to keep rolloing with another seven, etc. Thank you for being here & keep in touch.

Welcome paisley and count me in. I have to take antibiotics so I was planning on staying AF and I'm hoping after I finish my course of antibiotics I can have enough AF under my belt and finally beat this binge drinking. Thanks for starting the thread and best of luck!

Hello to Paisley and everyone else eager to do 7 days AF. I've had trouble getting past day 4 or 5 in the past couple of months. The weekends do it too me everytime. I thought I'd like to try 30 as well .... but that seems a little unrealistic for me at the moment. If I can get to 7, I'll be very happy .... so I'm here with you all too!

Def a good idea to have diff days to target for. A 7 day thread is a good name and a great way to get people on the path to sobriety. Ill look forward to joining in and gaining more strength from you all.

okay you guys, i just logged in because i am soooo tempted to do the same routine. you know

                              1. i come home from work/corporate world
2 look at my gym clothes and think to myself "mm, maybe tomorrow
                              3 prepare dinner
                              4. Start making my martini
                              5. which ends up several more
                              6. pass out
                              7. wake up in the morning
                              8. Look at my beautiful wardrobe and realize I have to put on my bigger size clothes (due to all the drinking, i have gained weight) not too hideous, but gotta love yourself, right? well right now i'd rather not look in the mirror
                              8. conemplating wether i should show up to the office and make some lame excuse
                              9. then think to myself "nah, i have bills to pay and well, the economy is not where it oce was and so i better not get fired.
                              10. fight a damn hangover (one that makes working in the office that much harder)
                              11. Look at all the people who seem like they have it made
                              12. Do it all over again.

well this time im choosing to fight and not reach for my martini glass and start pouring away
