Anybody else here struggling with being more than one day AF?

Hi Chelle: Well, I made it--two AF days in a row. Have decided my hubby is an asshole when he is AF. I may have to buy him a bottle of wine or a 6-pack just so I can stand him . Several times over the weekend, I truly wanted to smack him. So, I wound up avoiding him most of the time. Other than that, it wasn't too bad. The weather sucked and still does. Gonna try for day 3 today. Hope your weekend was good. Been listening to the CD's religiously and taking all the supps. :l Kay

      Hi Chelle!
Just wanted to add to this thread that you are not alone. I go one posssibly 2 days af and then cave in. I too know I can;t mod. Thats where I'm at right now and my aim is to do more and more until I don't drink. I'm getting to the place of acceptance that i'm an alcoholic(how I hate that word!) and in a way I can begin to feel peace. Next step is to accept I can't drink. that is tough.
I guess its a big learning curve and I do believe I'll get there (wherever there is!) one day. All I know is I'm in a much better place than I was a few months ago and that has alot to do with this program and site.
Try not to beat yourself up, and take care. Hope your dog is better!
      lol evie:l

For my yolk is easy and My burden is light

          Hi Marbella,
Im still around. Just not posting as much cos I dont want to piss people off, by talking about drinking which apparently makes some feel uncomfortable and wanting to ignore threads.

              Hi Starting, I appreciate that.
I have full respect for the people who have been AF since such-and-such, but they have to understand that there are some of us who are still going through what they have been through and successfully come out the other side.

If I cant talk about my drinking here, then where else is there to go? some people say its like going to an AA meeting with a beer in hand, well, if that's the case then I really shouldnt be here to jeopardise other people's recovery.

Also, if anything, my ramblings whilst under the influence should disgust people so much that it could act as a deterrent, rather than a trigger.

You should be here chelle, this place has helped you a lot I think. That is what its here for. I know how hard it is. I dont see myself as being out the other side, I see myself being on a journey. Sometimes it is easier than others and sometimes it is damn near impossible. So please NEVER EVER feel that you cant talk here. Like I said, we can talk whenever you want. But posting is great because you get all sorts of support. Do not let the odd comment put you off

This is just me, but the only time I get upset is when individuals are attacked in some way. I find that very upsetting....

Rachelita, Chelle, I hope you both keep posting! So long as you are here because you want to do something about your drinking problems, this can be a fantastic resource for you.

It's true that for some, reading posts from folks who are all over the place about whether they want to stop drinking or not, and about whether they can stop drinking or not, can be upsetting. It can feel frightening to those who are in the beginning stages of trying to believe that they CAN and WILL put an end to their alcohol dependence (it has felt that way to me, sometimes). But that doesn't mean you shouldn't be honestly writing about what is going on with you.

                            best wishes to you both,

                            wip
