hello, I've been on vacation visting friends and family and AF for a week, but as soon as I got home had that uncontroble ure and drank! Feel very disappointed in myself and have a lot I need to accomplish this fall so if I slip back into drinking I'lll lose it. I can be af when I'm with family or on vacation but once I'm back in my normal unstructurced setting it's proving to be difficult. Any ideaas on how to curb that??? Runnning away keeps me sober but I can't always be on vacation.I'm starting tompomax, but not like the book, just one dose of 50 mg a night .but I'm also studying for the LSAT and GRE so don't want it to effect my mental capacity, any advice from those who have taken it. I just want to be normal again and fulfill my potential which I can't drinking like I do!

Welcome Back Lulu! Did you have a good holiday?
I am the opposite to you, I find when i am on holiday I want to let my hair down and have a couple of toots whereas at home I am now used to being AF and enjoy it.
For me, it was just everyday doing something busy when suicide hour came up... any time between 4pm and 6pm. Once I was past 6pm it was easy. I used to keep myself busy on-line, reading posts, learning about the different holistic approaches and if the cravings got bad, I'd jump into chat for support.

I won't repeat the advice I gave you, up earlier in the thread... but each of the elements of the MWO program is there because it is potentially very helpful. One thing that is probably NOT going to be very helpful is just relying on a daily dose of 50mg of topamax. For most of us (those who successfully meet our goals), it takes considerable time, effort, and changes in behavior, thinking patterns, and how we deal with emotions. If you stick around here, and read a lot of what people are posting, and let us know how you are going, you will find you can get a lot of support. First things first: a plan, with definite goals!

Very well done on the 7 days AF. How did it feel? I'm assuming it made your vacation more enjoyable & guilt-free.
You mention returning to your 'normal unstructured setting'. I can relate to that. I need more of a daily routine so am taking things one at a time in order of priority. I'm working on regular meal times just to start with. It really helps with my mood & cravings. Even if I don't feel at all hungry I can always eat a slice of melon or a yogurt or a slice of ham. I try to eat something every 2 hours & leave 4 hrs after a larger meal.
Other than thet I spend a lot of time on here. Finding it keeps me focused & takes my thoughts outward instead of them going round & round inside.
