ODAT - Monday...

I saw Greenie's thread... for Tuesday (think she got ahead of herself!) - so decided to start one for Monday.

Altho, I'm not sure if I should be the one doing it - not doing the ODAT thing very well. Yesterday, I went to friend's place to pick up something I had left. He had booze, so I drank (!!). Basically, that was the reason... (Stupid enough for you?)

As I mentioned, made it nine days, then just crashed & burned.

ODAT.

(Does anyone have any "Smart pills"? I could use a few...)

I went to Santa Fe, NM - it was SO beautiful (and I didn't drink!)...

ODAT - Monday...

WOW I have never seen so many ballons in one place.

We are in Spring now, and it is lovely, today after my stuff up yesterday, I have been AF, might I add... I worked late etc. but I noticed the difference to last week when I was AF and doing so well and had energy to burn, today, I was tired today, and have a full day tomorrow. I must remember to stay on my supps, and remember how good I feel in the mornings, full of energy and ready if just I dont drink the evening (or more) before.... Imagine if I go AF for a month - I will be a jumping bean!!!!!

Day 7 for me and it is my birthday. It is also my middle son's birthday. Unfortunately, I have housework and errands to take care of, but we will be going out to dinner this evening. It will be an AF birthday for me. I know that this is a Holiday for many. Enjoy!!

Hope you are all doing well. It's a snowy Mon morning here, only 26 degrees. I am happy to report a personal record for me, have not drank since last Wed, today is going to be day 5 AF. Made it through the weekend woohoo!!! :happy:

ODAT - Monday...

Happy day to all! It's my birthday too. 48 years old, whew! And I'm on Day 3 and AF today. Busy Monday working for me, and then an hour with my Tai Chi CD's. I've got one that's too easy, and one that's too hard. I have two more to try out.

This will give you a laugh. Yesterday, I finished cleaning the living room which meant cleaning my male dog's bed. We got him from rescue. He was raised by an old Philipino woman not too far from where we live. She died a couple years ago, and poor Max spent about a year displaced because she was in care homes that wouldn't allow dogs. Eventually he was given to Rescue and we got him. Her notes said that she would rub him with cologne every night. I imagine she just didn't like the dog smell.

So we have Max's bed that his mommy made, along with a picture of his mommy above it, and a towel with cologne on it. I bought a $3 spray cologne called "lady stetson". Yesterday I got everything cleaned up and fresh cologne on the towel. Well Max was in heaven. He spent an hour rolling in the towel and trying to absorb the smell, and then parading around the house as if he was the most handsome man you've ever met, because he felt he smelled so pretty, just like when his mommy rubbed him down.

It was very funny to watch.

Good afternoon. I just stepped out of my time machine! Bessie willl howl if she's lurking. We both did that every now and then. I'll paste so I feel complete. :H


Eeek! Where'd the weekend go?

Working at he music festival was fun. Saw lots of friends I hadn't seen in a while. Everyone commented on how small I am. I was quite up front and said I found I needed to change some things and quit drinking, changed the way I ate and was divorcing my husband. Kinda gets it right out there in the open doesn't it? I worked the bar at the hospitality tent for a bit and sold CDs with the performing artists and was offered many beers, etc. but had no problem with it. Just happy with my water. Observed some REALLY drunk people.

Yesterday I packed hubby's clothes in boxes and taped them up and labled them and moved them to a storage shed behind the office. It felt good and bad at the same time. He said it would have been easier for him to just come and get what he needed when he needed it. Typical. I don't recall volunteering to be his closet.

Tonight is a Trout Unlimited chapeter meeting. I've not been to one and I hope to meet some people to fly fish with.

Boss Man I want to know about your tai chi CDs. I signed up for a class but can't afford $60 a month to keep it up. So tell me all about them, please. Happy birthday. Doggie story was hilarious.

ODAT - Monday...

Hello!

Happy birthday Boss - I can just picture that proud pooch!!! And have a great birthday too, Sea!
Greenie - i went to several shows/concerts when I was totally AF for a while, and it was rather amusing watching all the drunk people. It was talking to them that was hard - all that booze breath in your face. Which is why I tend to hide in my office at work if I've drank too much wine the night before!
AKgirl - there has been snow forcasted for us here on the prairies, but thank goodness (something to be thankful for today), it didn't happen. And the temps are supposed to be a bit warmer this week, so hopefully the snow will stay away a bit longer. But last night - after our hash run - standing about outside - I was freezing!!! I didn't have gloves and it was definitely below zerio (celcius). Had to come home and have a really hot tub!

Savon - I feel like you too, which is why I haven't posted in a few days. I was doing well last week, then my brother came through town, and that was it. Plus, went out yesterday for a hash run - and well, beer beer beer, and then home to wine. I will get back on track.

Today is Canadian Thanksgiving!! I have the turkey stuffed and in the oven. I usually do it on the sunday, but not this year. Plus, I invited 4 running buddies to come eat with us today as they don't have a turkey dinner to go to this weekend. So now, instead of 4 of us, there will be 8! One of the fellows has Huntington's Disease and is getting worse and worse - pretty darn sad. And he used to break speed records for running and was a very intelligent man back in the day!!

OK - off to pick up some last minutes items and I should get wine for my company! I was hoping - and will still try - to be AF today, but I want to have something for everybody else!!

Bit slow at posting here at the mo but doing ok - pretty steady modding
Saturday out with a singles group. Almost cancelled because got stuck in the worry about whether I'd behave myself... Decided tho that this is an important part of what I need in my recovery, more active social life, friends, fun, company. So instead of fear about keeping it together, I had a REASON to! In the end, behaved myself nicely. It was when i got home that things got a little too fuzzy...

Next day an empty bottle meant I got up & got on quite quickly

ODAT - Monday...

Happy Birthday to both Sea and Boss.man --- hope you each have a great year!
We had our Thanksgiving dinner yesterday, and even though I didn't start drinking as early as I usually do, I did drink wine. Darn turkey took longer to cook than expected --- it was 7 1/2 hours and I calculated 5 hours. So a later dinner, then hubby and daughter went to bed after helping put all the leftover food away (both have colds), but I stayed up to do the clean-up.
I am going to try and be AF for the rest of the week at least. Have a dinner party to attend on Friday night, where I hope to mod and then return to AF after that.
Greenie --- didn't know about day after wine breath? Oh, god ... I really hope I didn't have it.

Boss.man .... you're doggy story was hilarious ... I love dogs and lost my last one about 4 years ago ... great big (175 lb.) great dane. They have such personalities! I could just see your pooch being so happy .... aren't they great for your heart!

Peanut and all your other Canadians ... enjoy your Thanksgiving. And to our American friends ... a wonderful Columbus Day! I'm thankful I found MWO and for all you terrific people here. I just know this is what is going to help me get AF or maybe a moderate drinker. I will just keep trying because my health is too important not to.
