after many efforts!!
:new: I started drinking with friends at 15 on weekends,a couple of times a month. I remember at 16 thinking that I seemed to drink more than the others, and it became every weekend. By the age of 18 it was a necessity to having fun, I always needed more to have fun, and more! I used to milk my parents liquor cabinet (I now realise they too are alcoholics in denial!) I am now a mother of two boys at the age of 37. I get through the day but cannot get past a night without wine! About 6ish pour a drink & that's it I can't stop! I don't get crazy drunk, but I keep sipping all night. How on earth will I get out of this habbit??

I too, realized that I could drink more than any of my friends...and not only could, but WANTED to...like all the beer was going to run out. And I would get black out drunk as well. I am starting over for the millionth time, so I really have no advice to offer except this... I think you really really have to want to stop...something just clicked in me, and it will for you too.

Hi want and welcome.
I was also a nightly wine drinker and, like yourself, could not even imagine getting through a night without it. I no longer drink........not easy, but gets soooooooo much easier as time goes by.
Stick around, read the MWO book and trawl through the boards. Have a look in the Health Store to consider the recommended supplements.
I wish you all the best.

cke,
I`m 14 mnths. AF with one slip in Jan. of this year. (Slip is forgiven but alas.......never forgotten!!! :H)
I lived to drink, cke.........was ALL I ever looked forward to. Am not really a star ( :H ), just an ordinary woman with shortcomings, just as we all are..........if I can do this.........be assured that you all can too.

Welcome Want,
You're in the same boat as so many of us. We've been on a journey - why not join us? There is much to discover in soberland - more hours in the day, a few less pounds, and this marvelous globe of caring folks. There is not much new in the alkie world. We've all hidden the bottles, and all thought no one knew we were really loaded. But here, we're family and we'll be there for you, too. Hope to hear more from you!
