Thanks for the responces, I really needed them. Well, all I have to say is, if I start seeing things, i'm gonna be pissed!! I have beeh drinking at least two bottles of red wine a night since 1993.I went to rehab once years ago, only because I was made to go (long story better left untold) so that doesn't count. I've felt "sickly" today...My eyes are sensitive and Im edgy. Edgy is normal but at least, today, I know whyHa! I think what brought me to this point ,THIS TIME, is that I can see the sabataging taking place...I didnt see that before. That and my body is breaking down...I'm bruising, blacking out and for the last couple of years, i've become a "dark" drunk. In all these years, that never happened. Like the toilet said, I'm sick of this......Tags: None

vealees,
Alcohol withdrawal is different for everyone and does not necessarily depend on how much you are drinking. There are very complex chemical things going on in the brain both while drinking and while quitting.
If you start feeling really shaky, you might want to go to the ER and get some meds. Be safe and be smart.
Meanwhile, I can tell you are truly ready to take this on.
You might want to join the ODAT thread, or the Monthly Abstinence thread to find a place with friends and familiar "faces." (Although the Halloween avatars can be a little disturbing. :H)
Hang in there. It is so worth the fight. It really is.

Good for you, VL!! Just promise yourself you will NEVER have to go through this... or a hangover... or the other alcohol-related garbage... again. You'll be through this soon. Stick around here, keep posting, keep reading posts from others. Think about what your plan will be for ongoing sobriety. We'll be here!
