Have you got the cd;s? We need to do this step by step so i need to know exactly how you are going to try?? I am in the UK so its only 16.27 here so dont worry if you need to get to bed!! How much do you drink? My stuff hasnt arrived yet but i think i am going to start on monday!! is that a cop out?? Newbies, hon! So glad to see you both getting ARMED! And this is a war, don't think of it as anything else. Listen to some long time sober members on here. They can talk you thru the phases. Lots of ups and downs, but life is truly beautiful when that monkey falls (or is pried!) off your back!! :crazymonkey:

Somedays, some situations. That's why we have to go into each situation armed. Makes all the dif. SO much better without those awful 'morning after's'!

I only just got my Topamax in the mail and am planning to "officially" start that along with the starter supplement pack on Monday.

                Are you a 'mwo' virgin?

KW... no, no book... so far, just hundreds - literally - of posts. I feel like I know so much about these people already really; you're all so wonderful and optimistic and all I feel right now is sick to my stomach. Not in an alcohol related way, but rather just sickening nerves about what I just did. Silly thing about it though, I'm not (too) sorry. I'm just hoping I don't let myself or more importantly, anyone else down. I did order the supplements yesterday. No CDs, I suppose I should have clicked on the package that included them, nothing sounds like a bad idea to me. I'll look into it. I guess I just thought I'd - stop drinking - ... naive?? I drink red wine - up to six glasses a day - all between 5 and 11 pm. Some days less, rarely more - but I have, no hard alcohol, no meds. I am a Maple Leafer - its 10.50 here. I don't really care when I start - yesterday would have been a good idea (too late for that, last night was a 'sixer' as I packed trick or treat bags), but Monday will be fine. I am worried about the cravings - psychological for sure, probably physical too. Thank you DeeBee, rubywillow and akgirl for saying hello, I've read many of each of your posts.

WALT start to-day if you feel ready! We sound similar in that i dont do heavy stuff either and have never taken medication before!!! I would recommend you read the book, its very brilliant. You can get a pc version via this web site. I think?

Good luck I already feel more moderate and will try for the first time ever not to drink a whole bottle of wine on a friday!!!

Thanks KW. Maybe I will, what's a couple of days between new friends right?. I am expecting company this weekend and will be leaviing shortly to help with a teacher appreciation luncheon at the school. I'm cooking chicken lasagna for 50 right now and have both my ovens going strong! I don't know whether these comittments make things easier or more difficult for me. I'm watching what may have worked for others but think that my learning is really just about to begin. Good luck with your Friday and Saturday. Walt

                          Are you a 'mwo' virgin?

                          KW-

Welcome and don't be worried about people starting over, we all are starting something over. The diet, the organizational habit, working out, waking up early, staying on top of that work e-mail - always something that we could do better that gets away of our best intentions. I think the big thing is that some of us come to moderation, some can't. What ever path you chose and however you chose to get there just know that this is a non-judgemental place. It is a journey and there are a few newbies around...hope to see more of your posts and hear your successes.

                              Hi Walt,

I'm sorry I missed this yesterday! I remember well how hard it was to hit that "Submit Reply" button for the very first time. But you did it. You can start feeling some pride in yourself again. This is an amazing site with amazing people who want to help.

This was a big step and really hard, I know. When you feel ready, start a new thread so that other's will get to know you too.

Welcome! My heart goes out to you. How did your dinner go?
