            Time to STOP.

            GG, :welcome:

Welcome to the boards. I'm so glad you've posted. I admire your strength and what you're doing. It's fantastic you've already decided on a plan and set goals! Your wife must have so much anger built up, I hope she can find some way to vent that aside from taking it all out on you. It would be nice if she could have an adult conversation with you and be able to express her hurt feelings, too. I'm sure she will in time.

I hope you keep posting on Fri and Sat to get through. The weekends are slower here but there's always someone to help

            Take care,

                Time to STOP.

Won't see me on the weekends here for a bit. A whole other story of the battle between my wife and I. I will give that battle another two weeks or so and then I guess I will have to give in.

                  Time to STOP.

I'm feeling confident, this time I want to do it for me, and to show all of the doubters.

Gia...thanks for the support, a new feeling. This is a first for me "talking" to people who understand.

Depending on the swingset it could take your 4 days to build it:H. Good luck

                            Time to STOP.

GG and you other wonderful guys who are struggling along just like my son and his wife are: it can be SO complicated. On the other side of the mountain that is your addiction might be the personality problems of your spouses. seemingly ordinary by themselves, but lethal when combined with yours. There's the entire playing field of co-dependency, enabling and the need to always be in control of whatever the situation is. My son always maintains that counseling didn't do squat for them. But, the only way to understand these hidden traits is to get professional help to expose and resolve them. It's tricky to find good help: referrals being the best chance. As long as her reactions make you feel like you want to drink you are trying to climb that mountain on one leg! I am thinking about your saying that your drank more earlier, and she knew, that there might be something in her psychi that is "feeding" off your problem. Some people simply need to be angry all the time.
What do I know??? There's tons of books out there. Maybe you can get more ideas and help from reading. But you are on the right track by being here! Best wishes, g

gelgit...I certainly hope that my wife doesn't have an issue of wanting to be angry all the time. I believe that my issue will be easier to deal with then if that was hers. She has had some issues with her up bringing that to me are not the norm. She will contest that they have no affect on her. Even the counselor that we went to disagreed, but my wife is always right...right? I am feeling, maybe in ignorance, that this won't be that difficult as long as I continue to want to do it.
