    new and scared

Shady-you have come to the right place. In less than two weeks my thought process has changed, my drinking has lessened, and most important my home life has improved. Be honest with yourself and others and people here can and will help you. Read and post often.

Hello new friends! Just want to chime in and say welcome, you've struck gold here! Five months ago I was full of despair. Today I am happy, clear-headed and proud of myself, where before I was full of shame. Some days can be tough, but when you get through it, the victory feels that much sweeter. I wish you all much success & strength.:h

welcome all, i am fairly new but coming here is helping, pm or go into chat if you need to, as GG says its all about changing your thinking! you are what you think so if you don't want to drink don't focus on that change your thinking and focus on what you DO want, clear mind, FGF, and sobriety, get control, you will find help here, i am still learning. Hi Shady, Jas, and Singray (welcome),

how's it all going, I really do feel like it is a family, and i have only been here a few days. I think the fear of being new goes very quickly, but the fear of what's ahead is bigger. I spoke to my fiance yesterday, I was expecting a bit more support, but got a great big bag of shit hurled back at me. Deserved, of course, and the first thing I did was feel sorry for myslef, thankfully what I didnt do was reach for the bottle. But felling sorry for myslef felt just as bad. I think he is going to be supportive, but he is very angry and ashamed at me, again Justified. What is currently getting me through today is that I can do this, and show him and those around me that I can, but must do it for me first of all. Still a huge hug wouldnt go amiss.

Anyone feeling the same, if so I send you a virtual bear hug

day 4.....if I make is through day 5 it will be the first time ever, thankfully I am stubborn but thinking thats not quite enough,

Good luck everybody, hang in here, we need each other,

WELCOME Shady and Nuro. Welcome. Been on here for less than 30 days and have found this site really inviting and welcoming - no matter how well I do. We're all the same basically. It's a great AA meeting, privately and supportively - no judjements... You're in perfect company. I hope this helps you as much as it has me.

Welcome S and N, you have come to a great site filled with loads of support, I am on day 4 and it is possible, have not been AF for 4 straight days in over a year. The supplements/vitamins make a huge difference so you dont have to white nuckle through the process, it takes some work and planning but you will feel so much better.
We are all here for you:welcome:
