    Thank you!!

Just wanted to say Thank You again for all the support yesterday, very tuff day. I was thinking how I can't stop thinking about my upcoming work Christmas parties next week and how I am going to survive without a drink and then the beast starts talking about just having one drink, when I know I don't want to blow it. I don't know if this make any sense but I think, thinking to much about it, is causing the temptation to drink now. I hope I don't sound completely insane. Well anyways, will be going to the movies tonight, so I know I will make it through today. I just have got to get my mind off those stickin parties any ideas on how to do that? I blew last time on day 13 so I really really want to make it past that. It's hard to believe this coming Tuesday will be 30 days since I came back here and committed myself to being AF.

    Trying to remember ODAT,

    Thank you!!

Hi there Two, I know how you feel about those parties..I have one next week...
Someone gave some good advice yesterday regarding parties,, keep moving, that way you dont have to think of too much to say to one oerson, you can say the same thing over and over again - thats one of my probs, I dont do small talk very well. Help out in the kitchen or stick with kids....
I am going to give these things a try...you never know they might just work!
BTW, you dont sound insane at all :-)

      Thank you!!

Sounds totally right to me, 2sox! I get really annoyed and pissy when most of my thoughts are spent on AL - and I agree, sometimes it's the excessive thoughts that set me up for failure.

I'm glad you made it through yesterday - well done! Have an awesome time at the movies tonight!

        Thank you!!

Not Insane TS, just one of us.lol
I am fortunate when it comes to work parties because I am a Nurse and they never mind if I volunteer to work while they all go to the party, so that's what I do. My family is very small and no one drinks when we get together. Guess I am lucky, but I know it can be tough. AA recommends that you take a sober friend with you. That may help if it is a possibility for you. Either way, you need a plan if u want to be AF. Sending you strength.
