Good morning all! It's gonna be a messy one today: rain, then snow. Of course this is the day I've decided to go "to town" for some x-mas shopping! I found the greatest store, HOBBYTOWN USA. My son is going to FREAK over some of these presents. They've got this "gross out" science kit that I aim to get; he'll love it! And I finally got a list from my husband, so I can get him some things. He's impossible to buy for; he has no hobbies, doesn't collect anything and if he needs something he just buys it. He truly is the most exasperating human being on the planet. Actually, I'm beginning to wonder if he is human. I think he might be an android.


Anywhoo, hope everyone is doing well. Here's to meeting our goals for the day!

Good morning Dingbat,

It is warm and windy here, supposed to rain to. Tomorrow we go back to winter, it is supposed to snow and be crappy all day tomorrow the day I planned on doing the rest of my shopping. Probably will go anyway, I like to go with my mom and she has to work the weekend. I never know what to get my husband either, will probably get him a gift certificate somewhere. Do you do stocking stuffers, I ask because I need some ideas what to put in my son's stocking, he is 10. I have no problem with my girls. Well, have a great day, regardless of the weather.

Day 24 today. I can't believe it!

Off to town to do Christmas shopping too dingy! Hope it isn't too crazy yet. I hate lines, and crowds, so it should be fun :H
Like the both of you, dingy and twosox, I don't know what to get my hubby. He works or watches TV, that is IT! Arrgh.
Twosox, I have four girls to get stockings for, ranging from 10-17...no problem...the two boys I have NOOOOO clue.

Greenie, always good to see you and see you are doing so well. Your strength inspires me!

Lots of snow here, cold, windy, etc. Yuck. I feel like crawling back to bed!
Back to day 1 for me. I thought I was doing quite well but I thought wrong. Major set back yesterday; now I feel like crap.

sunshine - we've all been there! Just take a deep breath and start again. I promise, one day it'll just go "click". It did for me anyway. I was just sick of myself; period.

Hmmmm - stocking stuffers for boys are tough! Mine's six, and to be quite honest, he's got enough tiny junk. I'm still on the big prezzies right now! If I see anyting cool today at the hobby shop I'll let you guys know!

I have not been posting much but should really get back into the habit of checking in every day. Keeta, well done on 24 days. I have girls twosocks so I'm afraid I have no ideas. Have most of my shopping done. I got in the habit when the girls were babies of picking things up as I went along and have stuck with it.

I am not sure if this is how this is done, this is m first time on this site, I don't lke how often I drink, and even if I do keep it moderate, I still feel upset at myself, as soon I say well I'll just avoid it, I seem to go the opposite direction, It is encouraging to read others feelings and see your not alone.

dingy, I feel SO much better, I would never have guessed so many things would change. One that HASN'T changed as quickly as I would like is my weight. I haven't weighed myself in three weeks mind you. So next Dr visit (this coming Monday) onto the scale I shall go.
I think once I get a better handle on the alcohol, I will work on the other empty carbs. (sugar, while flour, white starches, etc.) One battle at a time though. I still get mild sugar cravings,(from AL still????) and indulge in the odd choccy, and soda...but honestly not alot.

Any how, off to town in an hour. Very excited, as I live in a Hamlet that has 250 people, and we are approx 240 kms from where we are going. The BIG city :H:H:H

sunshine...I am sorry you are feeling crappy today. I honestly think slipping (drinking) is part of the learning curve of taking our lives back. So that the next time we are batter prepared. Take good care of yourself today (water water water) and get right back in gear. As greenie used to say keep on keeping on. You can do this. You are WORTH it!

Hey dingy, twosox, greenie. The weather here is a bit yucky, too. The rain has turned to tiny flakes of snow.

Let me see stocking stuffers for a boy. My son is 10 now. Hmmm. One year I took some small boxes and in each one was a note. The note lead him to a certain place in the room, like a treasure hunt. When he got to the "spot" there was a dollar bill. He LOVED it and it was only a few bucks but he still talks about that.

I'm still feeling good about work. My husband went to a counselor and it looks like this is going to help him a lot. I hope I get to see him happy again.

Well, my manager just called with some pretty snappy words. Now I'm pissed. Grrrr.

Hey gang!

I have too many day 1's, so I've stopped counting all together. I have managed 1 day AF this week so far and TODAY I WILL NOT DRINK!!!! If I say it really, really loud, I might just stick with it.

You peeps are doing great with the Christmas shopping. I haven't even started!! My two daughters are coming home on the 21st and 22nd, and I can always get them stuff, but my 17yo boy - I keep asking him what he wants, and he wants nothing!!! Except books!! Oh, and a touque (he lost his!!). I shall have to rack my brains about this! Oh yes - he did say he wants a new trombone. Hmmmm...... well over $1000 for that, so it ain't gonna happen!!

Very busy here today, getting a bit over tired with all this work, too tired at night (thus no shopping or baking yet) and it is getting pretty frosty these days up on the prairie!!!! I really do not want winter this year!!

Day 7/-2 .....I am not going back to day 1. I am determined to get this right, and I am sick of always "starting over" so I'm going to keep moving forward.
