    Newbie's Nest Wednesday

Hello Sunshine and other Newbies to follow
I just got home from working the night shift; my usual shift. Grateful to have a job these days. Lost a few jobs due to my drinking. Im 37 days AF today. My longest stretch in the past four years has been 37 days, so trying to break my record. Going to eat and crash; back to work tonight, so no alcohol issues today. Thank God.
Sunshine, are you struggling? Let us know how we can help, when u are ready. I wish everyone a wonderful day.

      Newbie's Nest Wednesday

Good Morning all, A beautiful winter day her in northeast Ohio. I know for some beautiful and winter do not go together. I actually like the change of seasons. Its about late Feb/March when I can't stand it anymore. I'm sure I have alittle SAD. I bought one of those happy lights which I have failed to use regularly. Could that be why I'm not sure if it works.:duh:

Sunshine_gg, talk about whats bothering you, its one of the best ways to work it out.

Sea, 37 days congrats:cheering: I am at 40 today. I picked my sobriety date as Oct 31. Seemed like a good day I would always remember.

Well, off to work and later to an AA meeting. My therapist wanted me to try a mixed meeting as the one I usually go to is all women. Just love it:h Imagine to my suprise the first meeting 3 weeks ago was not mixed that day, it was all guys. 3 ladies came last week. Anyway, good for my social phobia issues and good for sobriety.

      Very good day to all

Good morning LTG, Are you at one week ? Congrats to you as well.

Alittle something I heard once " It is easier to stay sober than get sober" I like that.

Struggling.. yeah. More like putting a boot or two up my own butt. Totally lost it yesterday. No reason. None, whatsoever. Now I feel like such a sh*t again.

On the upside, my financial situation has somewhat improved and I'll be able to order the supps now. So, hopefully that will help.

Thank you guys for just being here and the encouragement.

                  Newbie's Nest Wednesday

Hello everyone, just want to check in and say hi, rainy day in NY, but warm around 56F. I have been taking the supplements, listening to the CD's, and I have to say that my cravings have decreased and I am now not drinking everyday. Thing is.........on the days I drink I usually buy that bottle out of habit before going home, or at least it feels that way........In other words I dont feel an excessive craving, but I am afraid to go home without the wine because I feel I may suffer in some way.
I quit smoking on October 2nd this year, and addiction to cigarettes was the same, I could not go home without a pack, actually could not be without a pack.....EVER!!!!! I see the resemblance with both addictions

Thanks for welcoming me everyone, I haven't had a drink since sunday night.. my fiance has discovered that she is a co-dependant which i have come to understand happens to all significant others or family of an Alcy. From what she has been telling me about what she is reading, it is all the alcoholics fault for making it that way (not in those words)... tonight i came home from work and we had had a good day up until i got home.. she went to her first Alanon meeting today and came home upset with me because I didnt thank her for going. She said i dont care how much hurt i have caused her for causing her to have to go to that type of meeting... she went on her own, I never suggesting going.. any thoughts? tired of fighting..
