    Starting Out

    Hey Everyone
I am new here, I am drinking far too much at week ends a bottle of wine Friday and Saturday and sometimes I need a few drinks midweek although I would not drink a bottle as I need my head straight for work. However, I am worried because I am drinking more than I used to and I wouldt like to stop before it gets worse. I have just been diagnosed with high Blood Pressure and I think it is not a good idea to drink a bottle of wine in one session but I dont seem to be able to stop when I start. I need all of your support as again I am starting cold turkey. I have read all the threads they are so informative and u are all so supportive of each other.

Hi Irish...there is lots of support for you here...whats your plan? Do you want to just keep it to modding or cut it out altogether?

Hi! :welcome: All I can say is don't give up on yourself. I've had several relapses and it's all a part of recovery. The best thing to do is to pick yourself back up, dust your knees off, and keep trying. We're all rooting for you! :l

              Hi irisheyes,

Greetings and welcome from yes, another irish person here! - not sure if you are living in Ireland though or just have irish eyes!

I went cold turkey and have to admit it has taken me a few trys.

It is good that you are recognising that your drinking is starting to increase. It is very progressive.Like that, I mainly drank a couple of bottles of wine at weekends to then slowly but surely it becoming a daily habit and lately a bit out of control.

Read as much as you can and post often

              xx

Yes I am in Ireland as well as the irish eyes! I thought I was so alone trying to battle this bottle of wine. Will shout when I need help! I dont know how to use those Smiles. I guess will get the hang of it. I am off to bed now. Nite Nite

:welcome:I am in the same boat as you, started with a bottle on weekends and then a bottle every other day, then a bottle a day, it does get worse, I am only two weeks in the program and I am down to a bottle every other day, follow the book and supplements, it has worked so far

I am also irish too, have been living in Australia for almost 10 years. My father is an alcoholic, his drinking is mine multiplied by 10 yet he still managed to hold down a job. My mother lives in worry that his drinking will show up in one of us, little does she know it is me, the only daughter. But I am determined to never end up like my dad.
