I really thought that yesterday would be Day 1 or today
MYA, I'm a newbie too, but it's best to get the rest of the beer out of the house. Make a plan too and keep busy on the weekend. If the voice "I want a beer" pops into your head just say "NO"... think of something else and it will quiet down. A couple of things that I've heard on the boards...."ride the crave" (love that one) and that a craving usually lasts about 7 minutes.

Get the beer out of your fridge and don't drink anymore! Can you go put it out of the way somewhere and do something to take your mind off of it? Take a nap, hell, go to bed for the night!...make a lemonade or hot chocolate.....water is sooooo boring to switch to when I've been drinking.

The only one who can turn your day into "Day One" is you... hoping that it will be Day One won't work! There is no Sobriety Fairy... it's just us, deciding NOT to drink, even when (especially when) we really want to! Getting the alcohol out of the house, making plans to do other stuff when you usually drink, and following through... all important things. Have you read through the "Tool Box" thread? Tons of great material in there about how to set up a plan that will get you where you want to go... until you begin really working at it, nothing will change...
