Reading some of the many stories on here has saved me before and I'm sure will again. Stay close... read, post, go into chat... do whatever it takes.
5 days is wonderful - more than I've ever done!Okay, WHO put a stop payment on my reality check?

You are not in that place anymore, you have 5 wonderful AF days behind you, you have PROVED that you can do it, you have passed up on "THIS TIME of day for the past few days.....you are recovering...the urges will always be there but you are strong enough to recognise them for what they are and shift your thoughts to something else....
Holidays will come and go and we all return to the day to day living that made us drink in the first place.......only this time, we are armed and ready and know that cravings pass and we can in fact, overcome them.
I know you can too.
I've gone 5 days without nicotine too!
Ready to get clean with everything- and everyone at work today was asking why I was in a good mood! But I do have to be careful as the afternoon cravings have begun- now I must resist temptation to stop somewhere on the way home.

" I keep reminding myself how good I felt last night when my son crawled into bed next to me and I was coherent and able to ask him if everything was "alright."
I've gone 5 days without nicotine too!"
The same thing happened to me last night and I was so happy I was sober & there for my son. Good job on the 3 days & cigs-wow :goodjob:

Seriously having some bad thoughts though right now. Those stupid "just in case" thoughts.

Why do I struggle now.
My wife and I are finally the closest we've been in years- after only a few days.

it's "that" time for me as well, that's why we're here!!!
i took the dogs on a walk and got home to a big guy named al waiting in the corner to temp me with some afternoon delight. i pushed his ass out the door and came here instead!
we can do it and think of how damn good we'll feel when "it" subsides.
onward!

That time for me too! Husband just called and said he'll be late tonight and my oldest is at a friends house. So, here I am with the babu...she just fell asleep and I'm soooooo bored. Finished all my work and am ready for my meetings tomorrow and have nothing to do. Don't want to watch tv and tired of reading. Anyone out there feeling the same?
