      Hi Scared and welcome.

You've mad a very brave decision and the most important one by admitting to yourself that you need help. You've come to the right place. I've personally been doing a lot greater since I've joined this community beginning of December and am sure that you will experience the same. Keep posting and all the best.
      AF since 15th March 2010

The journey is the goal. As long as you're fighting the good fight and you're not giving up on giving up, you're winning. It's not about how often you get knocked down, it's about how often you get up again. Sobriety the goal for sure. But striving to get to that goal is what it's about. Not getting there. Because the journey never ends. The journey is the goal.

XA-Speakers - The lights are on!

        Welcome...

I regularly visit the site...rarely post. I struggle daily...

The above link --listening to the single speakers-- helps me during particularly tough times & cravings. I've been to AA. I'm also an inveterate atheist. All that aside, AA works for me. I'm an alcoholic. I need something larger than me...you'll find what works for you. If you can't do that, if you find yourself continuing to drink, AA may become an option.
Working on it... AF as of...[sigh]. Today...today is all that matters.

              I'm New

I looked at sites as well and feel grateful to have found this site a few nights ago. Today will be one week away from Chardonay and I've sat down whenever I've felt weak and read the wisdom of this community. I think the "stopping drinking" is not nearly as hard as living sober...what havic I've created with a mind that's only been half firing.
I look forward to your progress....I'm right there with you!:new:
