MWP PRPGRAM STARTERS Week3 JAN 12

    Hi gang,

Boy am I glad it's friday. Had a really long day at work, came home, and fell asleep for half an hour. I really do look forward to the weekends. I didn't get many swims in this week cuz I was so tired! I was hoping this fatigue wouldn't happen. Last June AF for me I was always tired, likely because of the Topa, but this time, no Topa, still tired. Recovery mode!!!!!

jamms - take care of that poor family of yours. Terrible when everybody is sick!

Dill - that can be hard on a farm with cattle if you are not used to dealing with long, cold winters. We used to live on a university farm, and there were lots of different cattle, but I really liked the black and red angus best - they were so pretty!!!
USM - I'm kinda like you - for some reason, as a child, I always wanted to "be a farmer when I grow up" - strange thing, but I did live in the city, and it always seemed so romantic, chickens and pigs and cows. Well - I realize now it is not, it is a heck of alot of hard work. When my ex took the job out there (needed it as I was pregos with #1 and a student and he was unemployed!!!), we agreed to move out there for $100/month -subsidized so he would be there in the evenings when it was calving season, etc. It was great, and it was a wonderful place to have my young kids - my third was born out there and really missed it when we moved. But it was farming with an 8 hour day really - we didn't own it, and hubby got a wage, so quite different than actually owning and operating a farm. Still - I do love big old farms!!!

Sunshine - you seem to have been in really great spirits this week - your posts make me smile and feel happy, every time!

Cat - you must be freezing!!! Us Canucks really didn't mean to pitch all this cold air down your way, really!!! You never really do get used to the kind of weather we get (right AKgirl??), but on the other hand, high humidity makes me crazy - feel wet all the time. I do love the summer though, what small proportion of the year we get it!

    1more - have a great looooooong weekend - Relax!!
    NewDay - where are you????

AND - I left work at 5pm and it was 0C!!!!!!!! Wow!! I am going to spend my entire weekend outside!!!!
But first, a long swim tonight for this lazy bones!!
BF is home - best git!!!
    Have a great friday night!!
    xoxo Peanut

SS, You are a farm girl, too? That’s great! Our farm is small. Only about 15 cattle, two dogs and two cats at this point.
USM, I didn’t think you were critical of farm life! I understood your comment completely! I wish more people could have rural experiences. But I agree with CB and SS: NO HUMIDITY!
CB, I would love for you to come live here, but come with a pair of knee high rubber boots! I loved hearing your memories of your childhood experiences!
1MC, Yes it was a busy week! Glad for a 3 day weekend. I can’t take a day off for the inauguration, but I wouldn’t even think of it anyway. I never did anything like that before. (Times, they are a-changing! -Bob Dylan) Hope you enjoy it, though!
JAMMS- Good to see you! Take care of yourself and family!
Pnut- Glad you are having warmer temps! Someone should!

OK, I am not doing as good as all of you are, but, I am still happy. I have 11/16 days this month AF, and the other days weren't total losses. Much better than before!

I didn't start my decline in to alc dependance until later in life, when my kids were pretty much out of the nest. I hope and pray for you guys that you keep this thing under control for yourselves and your families!

Hey all .. AGAIN.... (see what I mean? - anther addiction to add to the list!)

Pnutty one... how long are you AF now? I'm asking because even with the occasional *cough* slip the first 2 weeks this month (and when I started taking the supps) I was dead-dog-tired. I mean... can't keep my eyes open by 2pm tired! I'm better this week but I have to confess that I haven't been taking my vits this week at all... just Kudzu. I think I'm going to try to take the supps again next week... see what happens?

JAMMMMMMSIEOHWAMMSIE! That sucks hun - having everybody sick. And you're doing it SOBER!!!! Whoohooo! You so rock! Now.... remember to sneak garlic under their pillows, make lots of crosses 'n stuff so you don't get sick! No wait.. or was that for something else? :l Take care of yourself hun!

Yep, Miss Dill pickle... a little 77acre farm... (which I'm not at this winter.. long story)... There USED to be horses, chickens, rabbits, cats, dogs - right now only 1 horse and 2 cats and my son there (well, and my friend who's looking after them and the house). I'm not sure yet what my plans are ... and I don't want to think about it yet... no sense stressing.
Okay, WHO put a stop payment on my reality check?

          Good morning gang!!!!!
Jamms! Good to hear from you, but sorry you have a sick house!!!! 'Hope everyone gets better soon!!!!!

Well, guys, I had some wine last night....not a lot, just about 3 glasses.....Hubby and I were home alone! It was nice. (and the glass is not one of those big ones!)
I didn't get drunk and I'm not going to stress/get sick about it like I did two weeks ago...
I'm 15/17 days AF. That's going from 8-10 drinks/day for YEARS! to about 5 drinks in 17 days! NOPE....I'm not stressing!
We will have a house full of kids for a few days and last night was nice just to chill and not think about it.
I'm staying the course with my med/supps and getting ready for a killer work out this am.
I hope everyone has great Saturday! I'm thinking of you all who are hunkered down in the cold!!!! Stay warm!

USM, Good job on modding! Nothing to stress about at all! And what does your workout consist of?
SS Good idea not to stress! All will work out. Will be sending you positive thoughts! Hey, we used to have chickens, too!
We're up to a whopping 14 degrees F here but it's blustery. I was hoping to get outside for a hike today. May still go, but must find a place that's out of the wind.

            Have a great day, all!

Dill, right now, my work-outs are mostly intervals on the treadmill. I am starting slow because it's been about 6 months since I've done anything. I have really deconditioned.
I'm doing some easy upper body stuff at the gym, but trying not to get sore. I tend to over do that when starting out and end up on Advil for about 3 days ! Ha!
Anyway, I've got about 15 lbs to lose to be back at my goal weight and the weight I need to be to fit into almost ALL my clothes! Especially my summer clothes and swimsuits! YIKES!
Doing high intensity intervals on the treadmill has always been the thing that leans me out the fastest! I've been doing them in the pm, but starting Monday, I'm back to my early morning routine! I find I get it done better and feel great all day if I do it in the am. I sometimes find so many things that get in the way of evening work-outs.
              Anyway, that's it for now!

I think somebody asked me what CHO is.......it's cholesterol.....I'm anxious to see how that's gonna turn out!

Have good hike! But stay out of the wind and stay well!

MWP PRPGRAM STARTERS Week3 JAN 12

Hello everybody on this beautiful saturday. I'm just about to take my dog out for a nice long walk or maybe a run - it is only 1 degree below freezing and sunny and clear! Just lovely.

Just like you, USM, I gave in and had wine last night. Not until about 11:30pm of course, as we didn't get home from the pool and some errands until close to 11. Good swim, 2000 metres, but with this nasty adhesion/know behind my right shoulder blade that shoots pain right to my chest. I think my rib is out again and putting my form out, and maybe has led to the SI joint problems and this new issue.

Anyway, I don't feel so badly about the wine, except that it kinda wrecked my cleanse!!!! Then we just went out and had Viet. noodles. Rice noodles, so that should be ok, but that fish sauce has sugar in it!! I do get tired of the food on this detox regime. BF thinks I'm totally whacked, like I am on some kind of constant experiment with myself! Ah well, I shall get back on track with this though for the rest of the day and until tuesday. I have NO plans to drink ANY wine tonight!! So today is 14AF/17 for January. And that is an INCREDIBLE improvement over my usual habit for the last few years!!!!! There is a vampire movie I'm going to see tonight - Let the Right One In - a Swedish film at a theatre here that plays alternative-type movies. Hope I don't get nightmares!!

Don't blow away in that wind Dill!! Hope you enjoyed your hike.
USMgirl - I think you are right about your treadmill workout leaning you down quicker. I believe you have to get your heartrate up fairly high, and keep it there, to boost your metabolism. Plus, add weight training, increased muscle mass burns more energy.
Sunshine - I haven't been taking the supps this last week, as I have been taking other herbals for the detox and they advise not taking ones usual vit/mineral supps. But, I have a new container of AllOne powder and will start taking that again, with all the rest of the MWO supps.

There is something I have to do, right now, register on line for something crazy. I am signing up as part of a 5 person team to do the Canadian Death Race in Grand Cache, Alberta in August. Aiy!!! What the hell am I thinking?!?!?!?! 125km race in the mountains - my leg is 27km, from one mountain peak to another!!! I think I will do better with that than a leg with more flat-out running - I will be mostly hiking (quickly). I am terrified!!!!! Where the heck does one train for a mountain race on the flat-ass prairie?!?!?! Once again, BF thinks I've lost my mind!!!

OK - here goes! Once I do this, there's no backing out!
                Have a grand day, everyone!

Your BF may be on to something! HA! Not really. You GO for it! I must say, I am in absolute AWE. I guess you'll pretty much have to be AF to get this one done! Keep us posted.

Me, I didn't hike yesterday, other than to the mailbox. Then, as I mentioned elsewhere on the forum, I broke my little toes, right foot, in a cooking incident: I was in the next room on the MWO forums when I heard the water from the potatoes boiling over onto the stovetop. I jumped up and ran into the kitchen, jamming my foot into the doorframe as I went. OUCH!

No hiking for me for a few weeks!

Hope you all have a good AF day!

                    Good morning guys!!!
First let me say, Dill.......I know the pain of a broken toe!!! OUCH!!!!! I wish I could say it's not so bad, but mine was!!!! Holy Cow! Hope you have lots of Advil!!! Get better soon!!!

And Peanut!!! The Canadian Death Race?????? I, too, am in AWE!!!! I CANNOT imagine!!!! I'll run after the ice cream truck, but that's about all!!!!:H
Seriously, that is an awesome goal! I know you can do it!!! I look forward to hearing about your training schedules! INTERESTING!!!:goodluck:

Well friends, I'm kinda pissed...... I'm not down any in weight! I thought after going AF for this many days, it would just start falling off!!!! HA! What a MISCONCEPTION that was!
I have been eating pretty cleanly, but I do realize that I have to step up my workouts! No more taking easy in fear of being sore!!! I have GOT to get this weight off!!!!

I have a background in health and wellness, so I know it's more to it than weight! My body composition is what counts, but I also know that my fat/muslce ratio is not good now, at all!!! I have NEVER had fat on my tummy like I do now! I think it has to do with age too, not just all the AL!!! I'm 43...I really hate to say that age has anything to do with anything yet!!!!!!
But I guess, that's the way it goes.......anyway, you guys enjoy your Sunday!!! My family is out of the house today, so I'm going to use my time alone to practice some yoga...tomorrow I start pushing myself on the treadmill!!!!
                    HUGS to Yall!!!!:l

If you read about me in the newspapers...please unserstand ..I had to do it....the man is driving me crazy.....he is a nasty, sick, hasn't had a cig. in a week, can't make him happy no matter what I do Mother F'er!.....
Ahhhhh....thank you I had to vent that out.....!

I wish my office wasn't closed tomorrow..I WANT TO GO TO WORK!!!!

I had two glasses of wine last night...the third one sat until I noticed it after I had already made a cup of tea with some graham crackers so I gave it to my cousin (the devil) who was downstairs in his room blasting music, like a teenager, and drinking vodka and O.J. Hubby was not happy about that especailly since the devil is not working but can spend $ on AL!

I'm getting stir crazy stuck in this house....my daughter is clinging to my leg...and it's too cold to go anywhere with her...so...I'm going nuts!!!!
I have a headache...I'm in a bad mood, and don't want to play"little peoples" castle anymore.... I want everyone to go away and leave me alone!

                      Vent over now....thank you
                      :teeter:JAMMS

"I'm safe.. up high...no one can touch me...why do I feel this party's over?...."

"no pain..inside...you're my protection...how do I feel this good SOBER?!"

Jamms - can you get out for a walk, for just 15 minutes or so??? Can you bundle your little girl up and take her out somewhere anyway??? It can't be that cold out!

I know that stir-crazy feeling too, as my 3 kids are less than 2 years apart, so when they were little, I would put them all in the car when things got crazy and took them to the library, pool, or one of those play placed (you know, full of balls and climbing structures) just to change the scenery and let them get out too. I think they go crazy as well.

Anyway - I'm feeling for ya!

Well - I'm 14Af/18 - not alot of luck AF this weekend, but will be ok today. Have a hash run later today, which will be fun, and I will not drink the beer. I went running with my dog yesterday (he was soooo happy) and I'm kinda hurting - the old SI joint is bothering me. I made a chiropractor appt for tomorrow morning, so hopefully she will straighten me out and things will get better!

Have a great sunday peeps! Gotta go do the grocery shopping now!

                          Hi everyone

I am day four AF and feeling really great. I had a bbq with friends and family on Sunday and felt really comfortable drinking lime and soda. I am loving the CD's as well, the only draw back is I am feeling really tired. Should I cut back on the calms forte? Any suggestions?
