I got to work at home today (on my ?day off?) & thought I?d have time to post while working? so wrong!
It has been a really hectic week, almost one of those ?be careful what you wish for? deals. I had hoped my contingent employment would increase some to keep me occupied for my first week back on MWO. It did! But it has also been crazy?. Nannette, I did notice the moon will be full on 2/25, and things generally get a little weird as it is waxing. Also, there has been a moon/Jupiter conjunction this week & Jupiter rules Sagittarius (my sign). And yep, I do check my horoscope daily? I am sorry to hear that others have been negatively impacted this week too. Byrdlady, you are such a positive influence with your reaction to work stress!
I have been getting so tired, not sure if my slight (10mg/day) increase in baclofen is causing some of it, or maybe it?s digesting all the extra food and supplements. Maybe I should cut back on the Calms Forte? I always thought homeopathic meds didn?t affect me much. Maybe thinking on all of that wine didn?t work very well.
Today is day 7 for me! I am so jazzed! And I know a great deal of the credit goes to all of the people who post here. At least I can sometimes read NN & the bac threads, even when I can?t post much. Hope to improve that soon.
:goodjob: Jenn!! HUGE congrats on Day 7 - you'll be amazed at how each day after this seems to get a little easier and go by faster. I hope you've noticed gradual improvement with your symptoms that you first posted about. I see a liver specialist for a genetic liver condition (she has no idea that I was also a huge drunk). I've been on a week-long road trip with my family and haven't posted much at all, but have been rooting for you all week to make it to Day 7 and HERE YOU ARE!! :l

Enjoy that you moon you earned!

This is day 2 for me and I had to fight hard to not go buy a bottle of wine tonight. The craving began around 4:00 while I was still at work. Weird but it was like there was a taste in my mouth that was longing for a drink. After work, I went to the gym and did an intense spin class. Felt really good. Then I had to run to the grocery store. I had to avoid looking at the alcohol aisle. I literally had to turn my head and tell myself no. Went home, had a bite to eat and watched some tv with my kids. I felt very proud of myself. Only thing is, I have gone this far before. I have even gone a week or two AF but I always break down and drink again. I hope I can really carry this through this time.

You had a huge accomplishment tonight! Those trips to the store can be downfalls.

This quit can be different from your earlier ones because now you are here and have the tools and support offered. Don't look back on past failures. Just move forward a day at a time.

Keep reading and posting. Somehow those actions really reinforce you commitment.

Enjoy waking up and feeling good tomorrow!

Hey Ican, great job. That is exactly the kind of tactic to use. Every victory like that makes us stronger. Another one I used frequently was just going to bed early. Struggling is tiring and you can't drink while you are sleeping!

Hi Sober and welcome! You can make this time different if you plan for it. It sounds like you have some experience so you can figure out where the weak spots are and how to work around them. Have you checked out the toolbox?

Laststraw, atta girl! I'm proud for you.

Jennifire, great job on your seven days!

                  Elliesmom good to see you.

Great to see you all today! Have a great AF night.

Morning nesters - Just reading back and seeing some awesome work... and some damn funny stories. Keep 'em coming. We all like a funny story (Daisy, Onereshoe )

Thelaststraw - the way you made it home last night - just rinse and repeat. As with all habit breaking, habit forming is simply that - rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat :goodjob:

Nosugar - a belated congratulations on your 30days... now you can really begin to see things not all with sobriety, but with a term of sobriety. How do you plan to continue? Further goals? Aims? Keep trucking. You're doing awesome work.

For me....well they just make me a little silly, except for this very moment (warning totally off the drinking subject) when I want to run across the street and give my neighbor a little taste of her own medicine for screaming at her dog! She is still screaming at him as been since I started typing this post and it is grinding my gears. I am an animal lover, dogs are my weakness....mess with an animal in front of me, well that's just not cool, I can, have and will open a level of crazy that will make a persons nightmares seem like a pleasant dream. I have never seen her hit her dog, God forbid I ever do! Just needed to vent for a moment. I feel much better and she has stopped screaming.
:H:H I just got images of you onered out there yellin at her!

Ican - fight the beast with your PJ's! Whatever works for you. Magic stuff. Gonna remember that meself actually. Might even take my PJ's to work (there'sa bar at my work :no and slip into them at my desk if ever an urge takes me to have a pint :H

Have a great Saturday peeps. Saturday can often be a weak time for many - but just think, why waste your Sunday feeling ill for an hour or two of supping poison, eh? (And for me, Sunday is my only day off... why the feck would I waste it feeling ill?!)

:welcome: Sober - excellent to see you. So you get to a week or two then lapse? OK, well to start off you've done yourself a MASSIVE favour by jumping in here - this will help you no end. But to really make it work for you - read and post as much as you can. There are many in the NN at all stages of their quits and together there is valuable support and advice. Please do check out the Tool box (it's on Byrdie's, Star's and Hippyman's signatures).

                          Good luck and welcome!

spider = my problem? I am now so excited that I am no longer hungover that I am too excited to sleep and seem to be getting out of bed too early. So, I am striving for some peace and temperance....I can't keep going through my days so tired! We all know what that could lead to.....Luckily, today is Saturday so I don't have to work. this means I can take a nice long nap this afternoon!!!! (that's another thing, when I was drinking, I couldn't take naps for the life of me no matter how hungover I was....but sober, I can shut my eyes and doze off peacefully and wake refreshed....)
So, off to get my first cup of coffee!!
                                Have a great Saturday everyone
                                I just won't anymore
