Dealing with a dying relative at the moment. A planned quit rolled through a little while ago, sneakily. Because, who would blame me right? Oh poor lady in the bag, it's OK, get right back up, dust yourself off. PHEW! Ya right. It would continue on through the relatives, the mourning, the services, etc. But, (we talked about this yesterday class) what would one shot do for me? Nothing except make me go "WTF, I had one, might as well keep going" I'm not going to get the buzz I want, who am I kidding? Not me. Then I have to come back here with day 1, and I lose my quit date that I worked so hard for so I would remember it, 12/12/12. OK, I'm calming down.

Overit...I'm so sorry for the impending death that your family is preparing for. You were around when I was sitting with my Dad...it was THE WORST time in my life. But as bad as it was, drinking wouldn't have improved anything. One tragic situation would have quickly turned to two. There would have been 2 losses in my life. Drinking AT this problem will not make it go away OR make it any easier to deal with...this is the time your family needs you to be there 100%. You need to be as sharp as possible. I'm so glad you came here first....guard your quit as if your life depends on it...because quess what? It does! Hang strong, you will be SO glad you did.

Jimmy, I just read that you were suffering a loss, too...I'm so sorry to hear that....hang in with us.
