    Newbies Nest

It is a lovely day, but very windy. I am going to watch that documentary you posted when I get settled tonight Neddy. Thanks for that. I'm glad you've had a relaxing day, and I hope you enjoy your evening, let me know how that meditation centre goes. Have you been before? Where in the city is it?

I am off now to pick up my lovely daughter for coffee and a catch up as I won't see her at the weekend. I'll pop into the nest later for catch up, stay safe everyone

The centre is on the High Street. I have been before but not for a few weeks. It's very relaxing. Enjoy your time with your daughter and I'll speak to you in the nest later.

        Wow back at Friday already..

I am attending a surprise 30th party tomorrow. It will be an all day event.
Lots of friends, first time I have seen some of them since my quit, my plan.
        1. Fill up my own Cran and Soda ( fabulous thing about this event ) it will not be fancy hence everyone will be sporting those nice red plastic cups , no one will be asking what I am drinking and why it's not the usual gin and tonic colour.
2.If anyone spots me topping up with non AL drinks and asks why I am not drinking ..I will tell them I am AL free.I don't want that to be a platform for my ' coming' out party but I am not going to avoid the question either.
        3.Have AL free fun

Have a great AF everyone...wish me luck

I certainly do wish you luck, Caz, although it sounds as if you have a great plan sorted and won't need it.

Thanks Caz. That's really nice of you to say. I think it's important that we don't lose our sense of humour. We're not making all these changes to be miserable. We are on the road to happiness and a rewarding life. I think we should have some fun as we break free from the trap we have been in.

                :yougo::yougo:HAPPY FRIDAY MY PEEPS!:yougo::yougo:

I'm glad to see all the newbies sticking close, and of course the "oldies but goodies" with all their words of wisdom!

I'll leave you all with my thoughts for the day (I know, I'm like a broken record)...
A craving will never last as long as a hangover, and you'll never wake up in the morning wishing you'd drank the night before.

Now get out there and have a great weekend!
:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

Believe in yourself. You are stronger than you think.

                    Newbies Nest

Hi, even though I'm not new ( I have been a member for several years), I have decided to come here for a fresh start. I had a bad day yesterday that I would rather not think about. I have decided that I need a place to post daily where I can be 100 percent honest and accountable about my drinking. This thread was suggested. So I think I'll give it a go. I would like to post daily. Hopefully, with time, I can offer some encouragement to others.

Evening all. I am not long back from my 'coffee' with my daughter. She was just finished work and wanted a drink so we ended up going to a rather nice pub that serves food as well. She had two vodka and cokes and I had soft drinks. We shared a pizza, had a good chat, and made a gym date for Monday. I have never been to the gym with her before as she has just joined. Knowing how competitive we both are it should be fun!

Hey K9, thanks for checking in, it's always good to see you.

Caz, well done on your planning and preparation, you don't need luck, you have this in the bag!

Neddy, did you here from your 'buddy'?

I hope everyone is well and happy wherever you all are

                          Hi, LFP

:welcome: to the nest! It isn't always peaceful but it is a great place to hang out with like-minded people. Posting here at least daily really helps you commit to your plan.

Do you know what derailed you yesterday and how to avoid it in the future?

Hope you just jump in, tell us a bit about yourself, and start to get this done .

Hi L4P, glad you made it to the nest and I look forward to getting to know you better.

BH, I switched my phone off, but he didn't come to the door. He won't come now; he'll be well on the way to the condition I used to strive for.
