okay, my belly is rumbling. Off to eat that tandoori that I made with my own fair hands. I'll be back later, but one thing I learned. Let's all be less sensitive of ourselves and more sensitive to each other. We are all in this together and all recovering, at one stage or another. :lWhatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. I think the Sticks need to go
Exercise is kinda a bitch when you cant breathe. So crap !! I think I might as well put down the cancer sticks while im at it. What the hell right ? No..not cold turkey though no way ..I have one of those E-cigs that I use while in the car with the kids that I will give a go at. Ill let you know how it goes and how it affects me for anyone that is considering the same.
BTW I finished my thread https://www.mywayout.org/community/f1...oes-79934.html for those that have read the rough draft you might want to re-read the Conclution part of it. Hey CDev You got me thinking ( I hope the women arent listening ) does Sobriety make the those *ahem* "curves" even more pronounced ?? Because if so then Im ALL IN !!
Just gonna put that thought right in the Top drawer of my Toolbox. On second thought Screw that !! That fookers going Directly into my back pocket ! :thanks:
That is indeed and interesting question, and I will do my best to answer in the most non-sleazy way I can muster.
During my booze-a-thon days, almost every girl I had any kind of relations with was either just as drunk as I was, or else I was paying her for her time (escorts). In my condition most nights, you could throw just about any female with 3 teeth, a hunchback, and a hollow leg in front of me and I would suspect she was a candidate for "America's Next Top Model". I have not even so much as kissed a girl while sober in well over a year.
Now that I am sober, it's like my hormones are in fucking overdrive. I notice even the most subtle things that females do now, and it all drives me insane in a manner I lack the vocabulary to adequately describe (when they play with and twirl their hair is a particular weakness).
The problem is, now that I no longer have alcohol as a stand in for a personality, I am honestly pretty clueless as to how I go about approaching females. I may as well be in 8th grade all over again, terrified to ask a girl to spring formal. My interpersonal development is so tragically devolved that I am probably going to be flying solo for a significant amount of time.

Lol love your description CD. I went on a date last night and god forbid i had to make conversation not pissed. Wow was that hard and i was like you, pretty clueless on how to hold a conversation sober. I did manage to so that was a bonus but i dont think i am ready to venture into the dating world at the moment. In my drunken days like you also any man was Brad Pitt and waking up in the morning trying to chew my arm off was sometimes not fun. I do not miss those days I must say and being single has its good points, not sure what but it does ha ha.AF free 1st December 2013 - 1st December 2022 - 9 years of freedom

Good evening Nesters,
A good Saturday it has been for one & all I see
Trinity - ignore the monkey mind, don't listen to the chatter & you'll have no regrets!
Dottie, congrats to you as well on your 2 weeks AF - Yay!
I've been married for 40 years!!! Living alone for the past 3 1/2 (long story). All I can tell you youngsters is don't rush into dating or anything until you really get to know yourself as a sober person once again. I'm sure you'll all figure it out
If you look at my quit dates in my signature line you'll see that I gave myself a little time between my quits, glad I did too. I was committed & focused on one thing at a time & it worked for me.
Wishing everyone a safe night in the nest!
