Good Morning All, Thank you all for your welcoming. And welcome aboard Further, it takes strength, but you can do it, I don't know if you like herbal tea, but it seems to help me through the evenings.
Samstone I tried non al beer, it tastes like crap and only made me want the real thing, I still have most of the six in the fridge, I might as well throw it away.
Ican, well we know you can it just happens sometimes, so get back up and start again. I too had a lot of a free days in, then bam, but I let it spiral out of control again, so please don't do that, that day one after that was pure agony! Same for you londener! To all of you with many days without
WTG! Birdie, I don't know how you keep up with everyone, but thank you! This may take me sometime to remember everyone's post and whats going on.
Now here is my fear...My 50th birthday is Wed. I am not worried about that, cause I didn't drink on my last birthday, nor Halloween, and plenty of other holidays, but I told hubby I didn't want a surprise party. So he bought us tickets to Vegas....YIKES....I need to form a good solid plan for that one.
OK everyone have a great AF day, enjoy life and take care.

I have wondered if all the sugar/candy I ate as a child transferred to alcohol as an adult...same stuff in a different form....

Evening nesters and welcome all. Busy busy last few days so haven't had a chance to post let alone read back. I hope all are well. I'm going to spend my bedtime reading going back a few posts. Try and catch up.

Had a spa break away this weekend with my friends and managed to keep AL free. Not as hard as I thought but I think my last quit has helped with that. This time I did have thoughts but they didnt las for long. I ensured I are tons and I mean tons. I am looking rather rotund! I had a drink in mind when we were served lunch and dinner and when bottles of wine were open I just asked for a soft drink. No one aid much but they know I have quit before and respected it.

I am still scared I eill think it is so easy and I am doin it again and heck I can have one- so constantly on my guard.

Anyhooooo back to caching up. Has anyone heard from trinity?

Good evening everyone. I just wanted to congratulate Dottie..Available and LC again on there exquisite work getting their hats :goodjob: .

So I had a good day working .. ridden hard and put away wet though. Oh its nice to get back in the saddle though. I thought it was going to be a bit rough after working a full day because thats when I like to sit and enjoy a cold beer. But It really never hit me. Sure I thought about it ( I probably was pre-programming myself to watch for the incoming feeling ) .. It was just like a fading memory of the past. I love my AF life and what is now flowing into it. I hope this feeling continues with me as strong as it does at present . I had a fleeting thought today at lunch..."Hmm im doing well..hard working..things looking better by the day.. I wonder If its finally time to quit smoking." I mean I wanted to quit smoking more than I wanted to quit drinking. I Know quitting AL is having a much more impact on my life than quitting sticks so that I am grateful for. Procrastination sux lol ! I guess I just dont want to screw up what I have right now ..

Not much else goings on..I guess taking a shower ( fiberglass dust isnt real good to sleep with ) and making supper then relaxing to a good movie should be the plan..but I feel that I should clean something lol. I just dont have my place just where I want it yet .. oh well.

Off to hit the water and play it by ear.

Hello Further and welcome to the Nest.. I would strongly recommend reading lots and lots of posts..then post at wiil yourself. I must have read a few hundred pages of threads on my first 24 hours after finding MWO..I have over 600 pages read up to date. not ever post mind you..but alot. It helped me intensely ! Something in one of those post Will trigger something in You that will somehow change you forever .. I honestly believe that. Stay close and post away ! Oh and just to let you know I was kinda confused as to were to post and how the forums were to be used at first. You will get used to it quickly because there really is no rules that Im aware of lol. The nest is the forum to be in for your daily routine. Hope this helps.

Byrdlady .. yup I looked it up and apparently he had some big troubles with AL in the end...or did you already know this ? lol

Thank you so very much. I have been reading a lot today. I haven't participated in a forum like this in a few years, but maybe I will catch on soon. There seems to be so many kind people here. I am a little nervous. I don't remember going more than 2 days without alcohol in, well, I don't remember! I did get some supplements today. I just want to feel healthy again. I can't believe what I have done to myself. I know it won't happen overnight, but I'm a Leo, so once I actually say "I am doing this", I can't let myself be wrong : ) Hard headed Southerner as well! I was looking for info about how long it takes to detox, and I may have a rough couple of weeks to face it seems. I have 4 wonderful friends ( all 4 legged and furry creatures) to help me. I just need to look at them and smile : ) :new:

:thanks: I already see that you are a source of encouragement for many. Thank you for what you are doing for others- I look forward to learning from all of you. I've already checked out the tool box- great stuff there!

Thank you for the kind words! I think the first 3 days are the hardest...by the time you get to Day 13, you'll be feeling like a new girl!! Just stick close and if you hit a rough patch, get online and read! I'm a hardheaded Southerner, too...and even I DID IT! We're so glad you're here! Byrdie
