Morning, Nesters!
NoSugar, I'm so glad you have a hearty sense of humor!
ICan, congrats on Day 4!! Halloween is JUST another day! Drink green Gatorade if you must, just don't blow your quit, it's NOT worth it! Who wants to wake up with the G/S/R Brothers again (Guilt, Shame, and the big dumb one, Remorse)
Remember to EAT and keep your tummy full! That is the silver bullet in the arsenal!
Have a great day, everyone!
Your Ghoulfriend, Byrdie

Happy Halloween Nesters!
Day 4 for me...looks like it was busy here in the nest last night. I spent my night in front of my TV totally relaxed. The thought of wine was still in my head about every other minute but I did realize something. Wow, its so different sitting in my nightly chair playing candy crush, watching TV sober. Its like the room was brighter and calmer for some reason. I have been extremely tired the last three nights...by 8pm I am ready for bed. And I have been sleeping like a rock! My addiction is hard to break with a nightly routine but I am feeling better about it every minute I am sober.Honeysoup

Thanks all for thoughts on the daily counts. Byrdie - you are so right in that I'll always, I mean ALWAYS remember my quit date. When something traumatic happens in our lives, it seems forever emblazoned in our brains. in 2002, on June 8th to be precise, I did a somersault with a horse. (She did the somersault, and I went with her). Came away with a smashed collar bone, but was so lucky that was the extent of it. Most people watching thought I was going to be crushed and consequently dead. So, that day is in my memory forever. Same with my quit date.
Anyway - Happy Halloween everyone. Lav - we too are in the country, so no trick or treaters here, but we dress up the dogs and horses and let them beg for bones and carrots! Kidding.
Still nothing from Gambler Dave and CDev. Hopefully Dave is just busy getting boats finished up for the season and CDev is busy with wedding plans. Let's think positive - but gentlemen - please do check in!
Have a great AF Thursday everyone!

NoS, shaking my head in sorrow and pain here - what's happened to your principles? You, caving in to the Great God of Commercialism? :H :H
Ican, what about a big jug of Virgin Mary? The colour should tie right in, at least? Or would it stir up too many memories?14 October 2013 was the first day of the best days of my life!

Well, DoD, there is a lot of pressure around here! I mentioned on another thread that my husband is threatening to turn out the front porch light, blow out the jack-o-lanterns, and eat all the candy himself since he thinks this might be his last chance...:H

For the first month, maybe a little longer, I too was extremely tired. In bed by 8:30-9:00 and could barely keep my eyes open. Had to DVR two shows that I like to watch that come on at 9:00 and 10:00 as there was no way to get through an entire episode. The tiredness has subsided now and can actually stay up longer, plus I read posts on MWO well into the evening. The other thing that I thought was a bit strange was that I was cold all the time. Normally I'm very hot-blooded, so this was strange and I chalked it up to quitting. Our bodies must go through so many changes as they adjust to ridding the poison. I've heard others saying the same plus how irritable they were, but I didn't experience that (at least I don't think I did!)
Just about everything gets better sans alcohol - keep it up!

Honey, I tried to change my routine as much as possible: take a bath at sunset, when I normally would have been sitting outside, glass in hand and the bottle within reaching distance. Use the early evening for taking up abandoned projects again. And yes, early nights - 8 is a perfectly civilised time for going to bed
Oh Sanchez, the dressed-up begging zoo had me laughing out loud.14 October 2013 was the first day of the best days of my life!

LOVE YOU BYRDIE!!! HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!
I agree, 8pm is the perfect bedtime! Sometimes I can't even make it that late. It's so weird how my body just seems to shut down at 8:30 now...although I do manage to read until 10. Weird.
NS - I want some Rolos...those are my favorites!!! When I was stuck on the couch with a broken foot I made my sister supply me with endless bags of Rolos...it got to the point where I told her to buy me the unwrapped ones...yes, I got THAT lazy. LOL
Hi Honey! You are addicted to Candy Crush too eh? I am not that good at it, plus I get frustrated. I have a short attention span apparently. Anyway, GREAT job getting through day 4!!! What are your plans for tonight/the weekend?
Ok I'm really worried about Gambler and CDev...I'd also love to hear from FIN!!!
Stay strong everyone and someone please send me some candy!:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:
Believe in yourself. You are stronger than you think.

Hello all,
They are going t postpone the trick or treat think due to bad weather predictions...rain, storms and wind. Not good for the little ones...I dont buy any candy..no kids on this street and we live off a main road so they didnt come anyway and I dont want to eat the leftovers....gave away what I bought.
Feeling good today. I am noticing some feelings pop up out of no where. I cant even identify what the feelings are but they make me sad sort of..I am thinking they are things I have stuffed for so many years. Now that my body is free of AL they are bubbling to the surface...strange...

Thanks everyone!! The birfday is going well so far!! I appreciate the kind wishes!!
Dot Bell, yep, to say this is a journey of self discovery is an understatement! Just shove those occasional thoughts aside like you've been doing and you will be a-ok! I think that you will grow to love yourself more and more, and appreciate life like never before...it's like when you get so close to losing something and then get it back, you appreciate it more. At least that's how it was for me. So....Dot, meet Dot!!! I think you'll like each other!!! B
